Fielding kicking into touch

the last time he did it Bryan was sat in the dugout!

Even more impressive if he could hit him....

My impression is its a timewasting tactic, clearing the fence means the 4th official needs to get a new ball to the player and they take their sweet time doing it, so a form of timewasting we can't be booked for.

I was just thinking when cotts came in there was an interview or one of those fans questions things or something where he said on his first day in training he asked the city players what they did under sod from goal kicks and he was shocked to hear that he instructed them to pump it into the corners. Well, it seems cotts now thinks thats a good idea! I guess its just a very basic, safety first way of keeping your shape and giving away possession and hoping the defence can withstand the pressure. I think we need to go back to playing the game with a bit more ambition, but not having our centre backs charging forward, a balance. But then to be fair with pack in there and no Smith, we just give it away anyway.

Why was he consistently kicking the ball into touch on the left side of the pitch in the second half? What was he hoping for, a lineout?

No, that's where our target man stood for the whole of the second half bar when SC got him and JK to switch sides temporarily

At least stood in the middle there is a margin for error which the forward can compensate for. Shoving the natural targets out wide was foolish.

There were many occasions when Ayling was screaming for a quick throw out from Fielding, with space infront of him. Each time Fielding failed to even look up,  only to sky the ball left, 9 times out of 10 to one of their defenders.

But in the first half the MK Dons 'keeper did it numerous times too. I couldn't believe it when after the break Fielding was in the same goalmouth and did exactly the same. I wondered if he had the sun in his eyes or something, but that wasn't the case.

In the 89th minute he waited before taking a goal kick to tie his boot lace. I said to the guy next to me, the ref will add on at least a minute for that and I bet they equalise in it.

i don't know if his boot was undone or it was time wasting, if it was the latter, it was a ridiculous tactic that rarely works.

It was either that or his sneaky fast boot up to our whippet like forward Wilbo, llooking for him to run past two shadowing defenders.

Can't understand why it didn't work..........?
