i've said the same.

Well I didn't see a host of clubs rush in to save him from his misery at West Ham training with the U 21's.

Don't ask don't get, might be worth the extra in 2 ways, fill our midfield void and help Kodjia settle even quicker.

 

undoubtedly he would add quality to our team. This is a guy who has played champions league football. The reason he hasn't been rescued from West ham reserves are his wages. Even a small % would be to much for us . Then you have the fact he would never want to play for us

Do people really think this is the sort of signing that would help us? Bringing in some ridiculously overpaid bang average premier league failure with a huge ego and huge wages? 

Ten games in and we're back to 2010 apparently. 

Sorry mate absolute nonsense, I watched him play 30/40 times and have met him a couple of times, but I expect you know best.

You are probably right, but who knows how much Wham would discount his wages, I suspect Bilic can't be happy seeing him around the place especially after such a good start.

Sorry but what's nonsense?

Is he overpaid? Undoubtedly. We probably couldn't pay 25% of the wages he'd want based on our failure to land a player who was playing conference football until a couple of years ago. 

Premier league failure? Well he's just been released by a premier league club so...check. 

Huge ego? Nah I'll bet he's sat by the phone doodling Steve Cotterill caricatures. 

How on earth is a player like that going to help our cause? He wouldn't give two shits about playing for the club and his next career move will be whoever pays the most.

As West Ham have released him, I doubt they would be subsidising anything.

£40k according to various articles. 

Next time you see him maybe drop it into conversation and see if he's willing to take £7.50 a week and a Dolman food voucher for the privilege of wearing the red shirt?

My main concern if we do sign him, where will we play him, what with Lingard, Owen, Barton, and Venegoor of Hesselink all vying for a start?!

Well that's even better because they must have paid up his contract.

So either he's asking for too much or being too picky or taking a sabbatical or injured.

 

According to the article, he broke some of Bilic's rules. That seems rather minor and I read it that he and Bilic just didn't get on.

in the season he left FC Lorient for Marseille, FC Lorient sold the best part of 35 mil worth of talent in the shape of 3 players and he was the 4th and left on a free transfer and he was the one they missed the most, the midfield was never the same.

Not sure anyone's saying he wouldn't improve our squad, just that he wouldn't want to come here in a month of Sundays. And even if he did we wouldn't be able to afford him.

Again you might be correct, of course we have heard all of that guff before, until the wheels come off and suddenly his rules don't seem so quaint and more and more players revolt, ala GJ and many others.

Like I said if he want's to play he's got to go somewhere, there doesn't appear to be a lot of interest that I can see, don't ask don't get.

Lorient would have him back in a heartbeat.

Undoubtedly but I doubt they can afford him either! Seriously if we can't afford Andre Gray how is this kind of target feasible? Do we really think he's going to come here for the same money as Marlon Pack?

I'm sure there's plenty of Championship clubs with humongous wage budgets that will entertain his expectations.

Surely we have been told that we offered Gray more than Burnley, he only went there for football reasons, gosh now I don't know what to believe.

I wouldn't be so sure, they managed to get Ludovic Giuly to play for his last season in football at Lorient and he still had it maybe not always for 90 minutes but again the crowd loved him, some of his play was sublime.

Not sure we could not....But he choose somewhere else according to him for footballing reasons...Is that a real fact I don't know and I guess he wouldn't want supporters of Burnley to know it was all about the wedge

Indeed but at 30 y/o I imagine Amalfitano isn't yet ready to give up his ambitions. He will no doubt join a bigger club. QPR anyone? ;)

yes I was being slightly facetious :)

But I still imagine we would have to break - nay, bulldoze - our wage structure to make him an offer that he would even consider.

Based on pure footballing abilities from what I've seen on telly and in the flesh, I would think he would be exactly the type of player to give us what Wade gave us on the pitch.  He would improve our midfield significantly.

I know nothing of him personally, his wage demands etc etc....so cannot  comment there.
