Anyone else watch the Klopp press conference?  My God, this man has a crazed smile - when he flashes those gnashers, he'd look at home in an institute for the criminally insane!

Now, when it comes to the top tier, I'm a neutral and have no real preference, but I do like to see some decent football on MOTD every once in a while.  Quite exciting to hear that he likes his teams to play emotional, strong, fast football - at a full throttle pace.  And play to their limit each game.

Wasn't this the way all English clubs used to play?  Could be that Liverpool games are worth a watch in the future.

How'd you reckon he'll do this season?

And back to City - what would happen if SC briefed our players to imitate the Jurgen Klopp ethos every single match, without fail?

Klopp is certainly a character that will add to the prems entertainment level

Will be interesting to see which liverpool players buy into how he wants to play

Working out his best 11 would be a good start, something i'm not sure Rodgers had managed this season

Apart from the season before last, Liverpool have gone back to the crap brand of football under Benitez.

For the ability of some of the players in the squad, they've gone nowhere near playing to it.  It us fare to watch at times.

Looking forward to seeing them once Klopp gets his teeth into them.

The brand of football that saw them score 4 at Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge (admittedly going out the champs league in the latter) and 4 at home to Arsenal and Real Madrid. Can we have some of that crap brand of football down the gate please???

I like Klopp's emotion- It's like watching a fan. Having said that it remains to be seen if it gets annoying after a while. Also like how he has already managed to have a slight dig at Mourinho by proclaiming himself the "normal one".

I'm not sure if he will succeed but on the face of it, Liverpool are very lucky to even have him there giving it a go.

The press obsessed with Mourinho ask an unrelated question to Klopp about Jose. Klopp gives a standard answer with a bit of humour and it's perceived as a dig at Mourinho? This is how the press make a living.

I read/heard somewhere before Klopp was appointed as Liverpools new coach that Klopp is 6'4" and blessed with "film star good looks".

Cant say that agree 100% with all of that but there was definitely something about his press conference that made me sit up and pay attention.

Id only say that about Wenger or Mourinho if it were their press conference.

What an exciting addition to the Premier League and English Football.

What he did originally for Mainz was fantastic. The way he reinvigorated Borussia Dortmund was sensational and with a style that has drew attention to him all over Europe. He took over them when they were in a similar position to Liverpool are now. With the right resources and £ Liverpool can certainly compete to win the title within 2/3 years I would say.

Liverpool obviously had to act quick as both Chelsea and Arsenal could be looking for new managers fairly soon. Seems a likeable guy and one who knows how tough this job is going to be.

I highly doubt that Liverpool will get close to winning the title unless they can start competing with Man City and Chelsea on transfers. They are still swallowing up all the best talent so unless Klopp is a miracle worker I don't think they will come close.

Finally watched his conference in full and although I've watched a fair amount of German football, I've never listened to the man before as he was giving his interviews in, you guessed it, German. He comes across as not only as very knowledgeable, but also as a genuine, down to Earth kind of guy. He's not afraid to have a joke and a laugh and will be a great addition to English football. He may also be a catalyst to try and turn the Kop into the wall of noise it once was akin to the South Stand at Dortmund.

Good for English football imo

Pretty much the miricale he worked at BD.

What might make his task even harder is the likely hood of England loosing the 4th CL spot unless someone like City wins it this year

I don't agree. Other than Bayern the financial power of Dortmund was arguably the next best along with clubs like Levekusen, Wolfsburg and Schalke. Liverpool will be behind Man City, United, Chelsea and maybe Arsenal in terms of spending power. And Man City, United and Chelsea are in a different league when it comes to spending.

Chelsea perhaps but very much doubt Arsenal; I genuinely think this could be Arsenal's year although not in the CL that seems a lost cause already but that will help their EPL challenge.

More a split second there thought you were referring to the Mighty South Stand down at the Gate ;)

It will be interesting to see if he dumbs down his high tempo, high lines, overloads and gegenpressing philosophy. Dortmund where based on development - XI's with a low average age to cope with the high intensity football.

Mr Klopp is already setting himself goals and Liverpool have a budget beyond what he has been used to. He might have to buy a new XI to aspire to what he has achieved before.

It certainly doesn't seem that way. They've spent probably the third most in the premier league the past two seasons behind the two Manchesters. I think they have the money to compete for titles. They just need to buy better. They may struggle to beat the top 4 at the moment to the likes of Higuain and Cavani but they'll be able to bring in a few quality players themselves. Klopp has bagged bargains in his time including Lewandoski. Plus, it would seem LFC could be first in line for any Dortmund players who have some world class talent.

The money is there. I think Klopp will have a better time of finding deals, recruiting stars and playing a brand of football that will attract the better quality. His real chore now is making the current team work until January when he can start his project. There is some dead weight there for the type of football club LFC want to be. The likes of Lallana, Sturridge, Sakho, Benteke, Skrtel, Moreno, and Lucas could have their days numbered. Keeping Couthino may also be difficult. It's definately a job that will take the next 3 windows at least to compete for league titles but he seems the man to do it.

Can't agree with that. I reckon Sturridge is a player who will come on leaps and bounds under Klopp.

If he can stay fit, possibly. He's had one really good season partnered with a world class striker. Can he take that step and become world class himself? He's got the ability but I have to see it first. He's not getting any younger either.

Thought this was an intetesting quote from him recently that could apply equally to another club closer to home...

“You have to look at which players are reachable and not dream of this player or that player and then say: ‘But they don’t want to come to Liverpool.’ If a player doesn’t want to come to Liverpool then stay away. Really. If you think about the weather, stay away. If you think about other things, stay away. If you want to come here, you are welcome. That is the first and most important issue.”
