havanatopia
Good day everyone Deja vu? feels a little like it this morning seeing the fixtures and in more ways than concern City, consider this; Earlier this week there were three football matches that are being repeated across this weekend. From a league cup fixture to a league fixture. City 1 v 2 Fulham was one, Swansea 1 v 2 Man City is the second. Can anybody tell me the third? City of course beat Fulham at Craven Cottage by the same scoreline in March of this year in what proved to be a major step toward our safety and pushed Fulham closer to the drop zone which they, like us, of course comfortably avoided come May. Here is the match day thread for that day:- I have a sense that a drawn match today might not be sufficient to keep City, just, in the top half of the table. We have enjoyed rather decent returns in recent times at Craven Cottage although overall we are still very much in negative territory with Fulham; In all competitions our record is W19, D13, L24 and our relatively modest but greatest victory over Fulham at their Thameside home is 0-3 on November 8th, 1986. a few months earlier we had been triumphant over Bolton Wanderers in the old Freight Rover Trophy. I recall that game vividly not least because it was my first ever visit to the old Wembley stadium. I have generally found it is remarkably difficult to find accurate player statistics from matches before 1990 and this one appears no different but the one against Fulham might have looked like this:- Keith Waugh, Keith Curle, John MacPhail, David Moyes, Rob Newman, Brian Williams, Kenny Hibbitt (I cannot for the life of me recall him ever playing for us but his name is there - surely more like Riley or Neville?), Alan Walsh, Joe Jordan and Trevor Morgan. Terry Cooper presiding of course. Rob Newman was our player of the year that season, as we went on to finish 6th, and what a player he developed into from those early days in Division 4 as a spindly lanky teenager. 6th, alas, did not result in promotion, we had to wait until 1990 for that. That fixture against Fulham was a third division one but only 4,500 turned up; a rather poor attendance. Talking of poor and returning to the subject of statistical archives I find it quite remarkable, bordering on negligent, that our very own club have a page on the official web site that looks like this:- I know we do not have a particularly illustrious history but that is very very poor. So what is the likelihood of a repeat of March 12th and September 24th? Can we even reach the heights of November 6th, 1983? It will be a mighty fine thing if we do and a moaning morass of Fulham fans will pour out of Craven Cottage at ten to five this evening alongside quite a few jubilant Reds. Rather too close to call this one although I did pretty well in March. Will Matt Smith or Ryan Fredericks have any say in the matter? Is the latter even still at Fulham? And finally, Fulham boss Jokanovic has a rather brutal and unorthodox method for expressing his disdain for their mid week performance.. http://www.joe.co.uk/sport/watch-as-the-fulham-boss-smashes-ball-straight-into-the-face-of-an-unsuspecting-player/88034 Big hats off to all of those attending today's game. Will it be over 2,000? Regardless, the support is truly remarkable. I think it might just be yet another 1-2. UTC. Edited September 24, 2016 by havanatopia 12 Quote Link to comment
Septic Peg
Morning Hav and all. Going for a 2-2 draw. Freeman to get one to shut up his critics and Tammy to get his usual last gasp equaliser. COYR Quote Link to comment

JamesBCFC
A couple of nights ago I dreamt we were playing Fulham away. In my dream we made several changes, giving debuts to Lucic, Moore and Engvall. We went 1-0 in the first half with Wilbs equalising just before half time. then in the second half Moore gave away a penalty which Lucic saved. Tammy Abraham then came on from the bench to score a 90th minute winner. 7 Quote Link to comment
WayOutWest
Morning all... ...but it's good night from me. When I awake, many of you will be 2 or 3 4,5,6 and maybe more pints in. Getting to the ground and warming up those vocal cords. Watching the lads warm up. Giving the locals a bit of large... C'mon city. This is when it's the hardest being an expat. I have to set my alarm. Wake up, head phones in...coffee on. I just hope the missus doesn't fancy a shag during the first half, coz the headphones come out. You miss so much...argh. It used to be simple. But change time zone and country and the match day ritual is massively different. Let's hope the boys score and me too... surely that's why they invented half time!! Only a 12 hour non stop flight from Manila to BC (Vancouver) crossing the international date line; leaving at 3.30pm, just after kick off, arriving at 12.20pm, just as the pubs and eateries around Craven Cottage are filling with expectant fans before kick off; Arriving before you left... samo II
Is the 3rd repeated match up Dundee United against Morton? Think it is a switch from home to away for Morton, but otherwise they play again (league cup in the week; Scottish Championship this weekend). Quote Link to comment

reddogkev
So, who is completing their double-header to Fulham today? You'd have to be very impressed if City could win twice (and 3 times on the bounce) at Fulham. I'm concerned that Fulham will step it up a bit today and switch the score line. But we do have the squad to bring back at least a point, and with the Championship's danger man on board, we are capable of winning again. All things considered, I can see a 1-1 draw. pongo88
Tommy Trinder, a comedian from a bygone era, was chairman of Fulham in the 60s and early 70s. His catchphrase was "You lucky people" and I've had a vision of him saying this as we snatch a win with a 95th minute goal from a misshit Freeman shot that takes two deflections off defenders. 2 Quote Link to comment
Ashtonwurzel
Goalfest and City to win 3-2. Flint, O'Dowda and Wilbs off the bench in the 85th minute. 125/1 for Flint first goal and City win 3-2. Quote Link to comment
Offside
This one is hard to predict. Will the law of averages allow us to win there three times in a row and twice in a week? Hope so, but I reckon it will be a draw. Quote Link to comment
exAtyeoMax
I've no idea about the score…but I'm looking forward to an exciting game. Fulham will be up for it after Wednesday. COYRs Quote Link to comment

RedM
I'm expecting the norm...A 2-1 win for us after going a goal down early and waiting until after HT to stage our come back, and Tammy to get at least one of our goals Quote Link to comment
Out of his pie crust
I had a strange and vivid dream last night, part of which was me looking at the score and seeing it was 3-3. Tammy hatrick. 2-0 and 3-1 down. He scores in the 80,86 and 90 mins. It was all a bit vague really. Quote Link to comment
Offside
In the paper I was reading this morning there was a comment from a Fulham fan saying we'd beat them 3-0. Fingers crossed. Quote Link to comment
