we have tried being patient, supportive, loyal, tolerant and plain benign. and still the results have been dire.

so bugger that

its time to be howling and wailing, venting our collective spleen, on the manager and teams case, screaming and hectoring, bawling, gnashing and biting,

i won't see my team go down without a fight and if that means we fight the boards inertia and berate our manager then i don't care.

its shapeless, hapless, hopeless football we are being asked to watch and i don't think anything will improve unless something snaps.

it will boil over at home to burton when we find that one striker at home isn't enough to threaten the opponents goal and i for one can't wait.because something will break at last

most successful team in britain? chelsea and look how often they fire their manager and go and hire someone better.

if we love little lee so much leave him in post but ask alex ferguson to come in and throw some teacups around. jut bring someone better in who knows what he is doing

Totally get where you are coming from and I agree with 99% of it, but Chelsea the most successful club in Britain? No way. Rangers, Man Utd and Liverpool will all argue with that....and even Everton have won the top div in England loads more times than Chelsea ever have...

I think the OP was referring to the modern era with chelsea comment.

Re: the main jist of the post i totally agree. I said a few weeks back that just like voters get the govt they deserve perhaps we have got the manager we deserve as too many of our fans were too apathetic or just too blinded to see this car crash coming weeks ago. One or two shot me down for saying that but i stand by it.

Weeks back people started threads suggesting demos and such alike and were also shot down. Perhaps if things had got uglier early we wouldnt be in the mess we are now in. It was clear LJ was done here after the cardiff and reading capitulations and certainly after he did the 8 in a row.

Or maybe we could use all that energy to get behind the team and hopefully see us beat Burton? After all surely the main thing on Saturday is the result and maybe not berating the manager/owner/club in general?

I am sure if we go down there will be plenty of time for that?

Totally agree

LJ has been a dead man walking for weeks -  a record breaking win of losses should have resulted in a far more toxic atmosphere - now it is too late and we only have ourselves to blame.

If you want us to lose on Saturday, then howl from the first minute to the last; if you want us to win, get behind the team because in my experience that generally works a bit better.

If Burton score first or it's 0-0 for ages, stay behind the team. If we lose, then be my guest...howl all you like.

Buts thats the whole thing we are saying here. Its this sort of attitude that has brought us to this situation. In other words by not applying enough/any pressure to SL and LJ we have allowed this situation to fester and go south.

I respect where you are coming from and in normal circumstances this attitude would have plenty of merit but this pathetic run we have been on for months is not normal circumstance. Our only hope is that he goes very soon. And months of people trying to stay positive has achieved **** all.

Ok I get the points about LJ and believe he should've been relieved of his job after the Forest game. It's interesting to see people wanting to go after the board after they've finished with the manager when the players get away almost Scott free.

They show absolutely no guts at all in matches . This squad was assembled costing more than any other squad in our history , our wage bill is our highest ever. Not earning the wage. Effort not good enough. Lacking a Gerry Gow or a Shaun Taylor . They are a disgrace

Yes but has the attitude of OP changed anything? As it seems to be the manager that people have a problem with and not the players, shouldn't the supporters think what the players would prefer during the duration of the game?

We havent tried getting behind the team at any home games this season, perhaps that might help just a little

I know AG hasnt exactly been a cauldron. But I thought the support was decent before this run started and not too bad for quite a few games into it. Their certainly hasnt been any booing until recently. The team have to give the fans something to get behind mind. I'd imagine most crowds around the country wouldnt be roaring their support whilst their team surrenders a 2 goal lead at home to reading.

Great post.

The players- and not for the first time- are shocking in that sense. Shocking- they get off very lightly and different groups of players have been similar under other past managers. Not that the decision to get rid of the managers was wrong but always the players- at this club- get off very lightly. Is a bit of a symptom of the modern game too though- I read just lately that Messi wanted rid of the manager at Barcelona and rid of 3 players- one of the best 2 players in the world he is it is not his decision to make. Back to ourt club though the players often seem to escape their share of the blame.

So what about the last 5 months , have we as fans not supported the team as a rule . And yet here we are out of the bottom 3 on goal difference praying for a result against Burton...Burton ffs, so you will have to excuse me if I tell little Lee and Stubborn Steve exactly what I think about the absolute cluster **** of a season. But feel free to sit in your seat and tut tut me.

If we don't win on Saturday I shall direct my most furious glare at the dugout.

I may even remove LJ from my Christmas card list!  :nono:

I'm going to write a sternly worded post on an anonymous internet message board. Might even swear.

Peronsally I feel the recent months have been incredibly divisive. First Brexit, then Trump.

I for one am enjoying being part of a united community again. A community of Bristol City fans united in misery and resentment.

We're back to our best.

Even if we're winning against Burton we need to show SL we NEED Johnson Out. Against Newcastle everyone was singing Bounce Around The Ground, couldn't believe it, so fickle, he needs to go no matter what happens!!

I'm not clear.  Do you want us to win or lose on Saturday?

Would you really rather be Chelsea than Bristol City?  I confess I wouldn't.  I'd rather be supporting a team with whom I can identify in the bl**dy Conference, than be a supporter of Chelski, Man City or any of them.

I would prefer the players to try harder and concentrate a little more rather than hide behind a failing manager. 90 minutes please

But how many of the fans really identify with the current crop of under achieving millionaires playing for club? The little snowflakes must be hurting terribly when they jump into their executive motors and back to their plush homes when joe blogs has to jump on the 75 after watching them get spanked yet again.

We're putting up with the same corporate bullshit but looking at 3rd division football, we've got the worst of both worlds.

Yes I think we all are behind the team Saturday but something needs to be done!  This man has split the fans like never known before he is deluded and will not back down so he needs a push now

If split means 90% want him gone and 10% don't then I'm with you.

Yes he should be gone regardless.

But a win is s huge today! COYR
