MarcusX Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 That club is a joke. £25k wage budget in step 7 of non league?

Portland Bill Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 I could be wrong..... but I think there is money to be made re betting in this seasons non league divisions. Billericay ( even though they are 2/5! ), Hereford, Altrincham/Salford City, York City etc. All teams you would expect to be top of their leagues come May.
JackofromSanJavier Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 So who does anyone fancy for the Western League title now that Bristol's second team (MF) have moved onwards and upwards. My heart says Melksham but with Darren Perrin moving upstairs I reckon it'll be waaaay too soon. Anyway, UPTHECITY
Spoons Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 The same team who were paying Jamie Ohara £2.5k a week last season !!

Anyway, UPTHECITY I watched Bridgwater Town beat Keynsham 5-2 in the FA cup today, realistically BW should be up around the top this season, but 5 goals totally flattered them. Two poor teams today, very little quality on show.

Odd Down (Bath) are decent too Brislington are usually near the top It should be fairly close this year, far too easy for BMF last season. I think Brislington are playing Bridgwater Town in the next round of the FA Cup Qualifiers.

Brislington travel to Bridgwater - was always a grudge match back in the day. Odd Down are at Mangotsfield I think.
Red-Robbo Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 A famous story - that may be familiar to Bristolians of a certain age - tells of how one of Rovers' female employees "distracted" so many of their players one season that not only was fitness affected but fights broke out in the dressing room over jealous rivalry. The Gas were relegated that season...

I posted a link on here some years back (during DMC's reign) showing the cheer leaders at a French rugby match. The teams ran on to the pitch between two rows of topless ladies from the Moulin Rouge.
