On Sky at 4:30. No Mark Little but Wilbs on the bench for Bolton, Ayling starts for Leeds

Be interesting , particularly Bolton

Not sure they are going to struggle as much as some think

Parkinson isn't a bad manager and has assemble a reasonable squad (Considering the restrictions / options he's had)

Yeah I was surprised to see the team and there is a lot more there than I thought there would be. Some solid players like Beevers and Wheater and a bit of class too like Vela.

Not kept up with Bolton unsurprisingly, how the **** did they keep Vela?

2-0 Leeds, Chris Wood predictably.

Have to say it was against the run of play; Bolton looked half decent (emphasis on the half) after conceding.

Bolton look organised and hard working, but you can tell in their final ball and touches on the ball that they lack a bit a bit of quality.

Got some serious aerial threat, mind you; can see Wilbs profiting from their tendency to go long.

Leeds are just overpowering them at the moment and look to have settled better than Bolton. Understandable I suppose, it`s a big game for your first one back TBF.

Looks like Luke Ayling`s just gone to CB now Berardi`s injured.

Well spotted mate!

That is so gutting when that happens isn`t it? You just get back into it at 2-1 and they just pop up the other end and score again.

Leeds look pretty comfortable playing on the counter, and ruthless when given opportunities.

However, Bolton aren't fully out of this yet; Leeds absolutely cannot deal with them on the long ball - Madine has been impressive.  If chuck on Wilbs for Le Fondre, as he's not done much, and going long works out for you, just lean in to it!

Leeds have now lost two defenders to injury today, including the centre back they loaned from Everton.

Wonder of that might sharpen minds and influence chequebooks regards our man Flint...

Posted

And the lad who replaced their centre back immediately gave away a pen, mainly due to their inability to deal with crosses/corners.

We've got a player who could sort all that for them for... say, £5 million?

(for the record; don't want Flint to go, especially not to dirty Leeds, but this game would be totally different if Leeds had one central defender as good in the air as our Aden)

Great minds mate! They said Berardi was a dislocated shoulder which the physio put back in - ouch!

Mainly due to being brainless and wanting to undress Madine.

You're right though. Leeds win this comfortably with Flint.

Embarrassing defending for that corner. Awful.

Was like watching Swindon defend against us circa 2015.

He was injured first game last year too (was on telly; remember Leeds getting tanked) - think he's excellent, but a bit of a sick note.

Pennington has a history of bad injuries too; only came back from a long time out in January, so bad news for him if that's back.

Think of a number. Double it. Divide by eleventy five point five and a half.

= Flint's current value according BEP/OTIB & SL

Kick and rush from Bolton, long ball shite and I can see why they wanted Wilbraham, he'll love it there.

No better than Barnsley on this first half performance - just a bit more fight in them but a severe lack of quality.

Leeds looking good and just picked them off - Bolton are crap at the back.

Looks like Championship v League 1 at the moment.

Work with a Bolton fan, he said both them and Millwall got promoted playing long ball.

Adam Armstrong on for Bolton. I hadn`t realised they had signed him.

Another loan.

Much better from Bolton second half - cut out the lumpin, long ball rubbish, and actually tried to play a bit of football but still lacking in a bit of quality which Leeds had throughout.

Decent game to watch, especially second half

Was convinced they'd bring in Wilbs who'd nick a point for them.

After all, he only got one less goal last season than Armstrong in a lot less minutes, and loves a last minute strike!

Always thought Madine was a decent target man...remember him for Coventry in the JPT game at our place in 14/15, back to goal we couldn't get him off the ball, and physically tough to win headers against.

Never quote got the goals to go with his game at this level, decent record at League One.  Surprised he's only 26, thought he'd be 29/30.

Sadly, I can imagine Flint at Leeds more than Brum.

Let's hope not!

I've a funny feeling so does Flint.

Good ol' Phil Parkinson keeping the spirit of the 80s Hooooofball going "big" time   see what I did?

Could be dangerous against some teams with their physical, take no prisoners approach... will get well spanked by the cleverer sides.

Don't know why, maybe it's the memories of that Gas Devon White team, but i always want this kind of dross to fail spectacularly.

Is this the same Flint that you said was 'shit at defending' in the other thread no more than a few hours ago?

BTW Rob Green set to sit the season out on the bench at Leeds. Ex-England keeper anyone? Shouldn't cost much in wages.. What could go wrong?

Slightly odd, isn't it.  Most of us don't want to lose Flint, but spend most of last season pointing out how he was to blame for most of the goals we considered.

Just because he said no, no, no?

If you look far enough back you'll see I've said Flint is good against teams with a big lump up front, which is all Bolton do. Against anyone with any sort of pace, he is useless and shit. Effective six games a season.
