Just a quick snap I took on the way in to work this morning - Atyeo, Ashton Gate and a hot air balloon, icons of Bristol.

It's a very small balloon . Is it an ants only flight ?

Probably the best Atyeo pic I've seen... the early morning sun light sets it off a treat...

(tip to remember:  When the early morning sun is shining and a camera is handy... the natural light is perfect this time of year and will show off the statue brilliantly)

If you had used a Tobacco filter on the camera, you could have included another icon.

Opportunity missed (but still a great pic)!

If a balloon flies low over the new stand and someone is lucky enough to get a pic at the right angle with the balloon between Atyeos arms ... that would be a good 'un  ....

(don't think the FA Cup balloon is still flying is it? ... a football shaped balloon would be amazing, or just one of the 'Bristol Balloons' would be great)

I'm sure (or I hope) over the years we will be seeing lots more Atyeo Statue photographs making use of unique background photo opportunities as they appear briefly in the sky behind John.  Could be birds, clouds, planes etc etc that happen to be in the right place at the right time... with Atyeos iconic arms aloft pose the sky's the limit -literally !

Be nice to see Concorde fly again and be in the picture.

Yeah, wouldn't that be something?

Sadly not to be....  although if we are very very lucky one day the Red Arrows might fly past on route to WSM or during an Ashton Court event, and someone may get a pic of them with 'our John'  waving 'em over.

A nice rainbow is of course always possible ... a full moon or starry night might work.. maybe a bird on each hand (my worry when I saw it for the first time was birds perching and doing their business all over 'our John' but thankfully so far that seems not to have been a problem - ......unless, Dolly, Peg & Red have been giving him a regular once over with their soapy buckets mops and very long feather dusters? :) ) & of course a skyfull of Balloon Fiesta balloons.

Hopefully one day even a big Red and White BCFC Balloon will do the honours :fingerscrossed:

Anyway the statue has been a triumph, looks great and will provide ideal photo opportunities for years to come...

Re:   The Atyeo Statue.

Any news regarding the possibility of replica bronze/resin miniatures becoming available?

Heard something about it some time ago, wondering if its in the retail pipeline?

I'm sure quality replicas would sell well..  (even decent plastic ones would be popular if priced sensibly, kids would love 'em on their bedside cabinets for instance .)

OK, I'm getting a bit carried away now, - but how about Atyeo Statue table lamps, ...  hat/brolly stands etc.??

Yeah, Yeah OK Tone....  sensible suggestions only...

(I'm surprised the enterprising  @Major Isewater hasn't started a production line already, a whole range of Atyeo Statue products is possible, an industry waiting to happen... (tiny little versions of the complete available range could be made as highly desirable limited edition collectables)

I'd buy you the Atyeo Multi Bog Roll Holder for Christmas if they made them...

A three foot J A statue holding two or three rolls on each arm would look great in the corner of any bathroom, and be very handy too.. :)

PS .. if you only have one hat, JA could wear it on his head in the hallway and also hold a pair gloves on his hands for you ready for those chilly winter mornings.. dont knock it mate ... Replica Atyeo statues have multiple uses all around the house, as a kitchen assistant he can hold various cooking utensils for instance.

Whoever said  'Theres only one John Atyeo ' could soon have to change their tune, potentially John's could be everywhere, serving a multitude of uses in homes around the World, ... ' Theres only tons of John Atyeo's '

If it wasn`t for that bloody great football ground in the way the backdrop to big John would be the bridge.

You're right ... Lets ask Lansdown to demolish the bloody lot of it and rebuild across the road at Ashton Vale... then we can have the view that Bristol deserves and everybody will be happy...  dunno why he hasn't done that already, the blokes got no vision at all.

Apparently the Red Arrows are flying over Bristol this afternoon, no idea if over Bristol puts them anywhere near BS3 but the opportunist might want to get their box brownie ready.
