Dr Balls Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 So I understand from LJ talking to the Senior Reds on Thursday that Flint is likely to be on his way, largely due to wages, his suggestion being that we can compete on transfer fees but not on wages. I don't blame Flint as he is looking for the future and his family, just as Kodjia did last season. Let's be honest if someone offered any of us 4 times as much as we currently earn, for the same job, I don't think you would find many who would hesitate for more than a few seconds to make sure there wasn't a catch. It's clear that those with Parachute Payments will be able to afford considerably more than the rest of the clubs. LJ also commented that there are 14 clubs in this division with parachute payments. However on my review of the table I can only find 10 at most. It seems like an argument for not being competitive at the top end of the table, but in reality Brighton and Huddersfield didn't have payments last season. And of the current top 10, only Cardiff, QPR & Middlesbrougth receive payments. So is it just an easy excuse for both LJ & Bristol Sport for another season of struggling in the bottom half of the table?
