PFree Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 After the game yesterday, we were discussing where we are now since when LJ started as Manager and the consensus was worrying. Three transfer windows, he's signed his own squad in reality and concerningly we look destined for another relegation scrap? When you think who has been signed, in reality, who has come in and really made a positive difference? Do we really look well organised, are we playing with the right tempo, do we have greater strength in depth now than previously? Before you jump on me I've been a ST holder for a couple of decades and I genuinely want LJ to do well BUT I'm worried and now expecting us to be fighting at the wrong end of the table again, and let's face it, SL has continued to back LJ in the transfer market, he's spent plenty. I hope I'm wrong but feel we could well be on the end of a decent hiding next Friday - our form is shocking and we've done well to take two points from the last two games.
wendyredredrobin Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 After Barnsley and Plymouth, I had high hopes for this season and when we took a point from the Brentford game, I was not too downcast, but after the Brum and Millwall games, I am inclined to agree that we have not progressed much since LJ took over. First half yesterday was dreadful, we looked like the away team, were second to the ball, not closing down quickly enough and losing nearly every 50/50 challenge. We really need to be beating teams like Millwall and Brentford if we expect a half decent season.
Rocking Red Cyril Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 let's just wait to see how it goes on only 4 games gone
