sm2webb Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 An interesting interview with Martin Griffiths and Mark Kelly at the recent Soccerex conference (audio only) https://audioboom.com/posts/6267697-from-the-till-up-the-rebuilding-of-ashton-gate Conferencing events / hospitality has gone from turning over c£250k to £2.5m @Mkelly you mentioned the average spend per fan was about 85p before the redevelopment, using the third party contractor. What is it now?
Mr Popodopolous Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 Just been listening to it. Sounds like the club really is being run much better now- in all areas. Bringing everything in house is an excellent thing for sure. Bit at the end about how the future of Stadia will be is fascinating. One quote by Martin Griffiths especially. Quote "The future ways that stadiums will be run will be of cheap bare metal capital expenditure technology, and highly sophisticated software. And the software will direct what happens in that stadium, because you can see it coming."
CyderInACan Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 Very interesting to listen to. Great to hear @Mkelly say that the season ticket discounts totalled (I'm sure he said) £150k which is a huge sum of money but just goes to show how much we are all now spending at AG on a matchday, the discounts certainly attract more of us to eat and drink at the stadium for sure.

Which given the discounts are a maximum 20% of the spend probably means we've spent something. Interesting how he avoided mentioning chips. The wrong 'un.
