and Cotts, or will Cotts become Caretaker Manager?

Cotterill wasn't there anymore was he? Thought he left at the end of the season.

Would be a good bet to take over I think, especially now the transfer window is closed and he knows a few of their squad already.

I guess his dog's savings account has been topped up enough and now he can return to full time whinging about never being honest enough to get the England job.  Gutless *****.

Flint should count himself lucky he never ended up there. Rednapp manages how I used to play football manager - buy loads of players when the window is open, then lose interest when window shuts and they aren't immediately brilliant.

Was just thinking it was lucky for him Dollymarie didn't let him out her cupboard...

Haha!! Wonder how much Birmingham regret sacking Gary Rowett, having gone through Gianfranco Zola and 'Arry since....and now in the bottom 3....

Haha!!

I wonder if this was part of Cotts long term plan when he turned down the job of Harry's assistant at Birmingham. Harry gets the sack and Cotts comes in as replacement.

Thank goodness Flint didn't go there, as he deserves better

What's the betting on the Watford guy or the slut at Hull being next?.

Watford?

None whatsoever, losing 6-0 to a team funded by petrochemical giants is no disgrace.

They won't go down, Man City will buy the league, modern football, great, eh?

Don't know quite how to react to this news. I was really disappointed when we didn't send them down. Think with him in charge they were nailed on relegation candidates.

Probably will appoint someone who will turn the season around for them but not going to be easy. Can't stand Brum. Never have. Don't like Rednapp either. One thing is for sure who ever they appoint has one hell of a battle on his hands.

Posted

Is that 11-12 games in total he's been in the job?

What a ridiculous club right now; 'Trillion Trophy Asia' have chewed through three managers in under a year, with the only decent one being Rowett, who they didn't appoint.

Can't wait to see which washed out big name they appoint next.

Only reason I know is that the bloke who fitted our cooker earlier this year was a Villa ST holder and he was chatting to me about him as it was before we were playing Brentford. Said he's a lovely bloke and big Villa fan  #crapstoryalert !

Appeared to have lost his hunger / interest

Not sure he would have been interested to start with if it wasn't for £ 1 million survival bonus for 3 games

Not sure the owners delivered what they promised either

I think he only won two games in his whole reign at Brum? Both vs us?!

Sickening if correct, and it sounds about right.

We should have sent the b******* down - disgraceful City performance that day really - failing that we could at least have made up for it (a bit) by beating them at St. Andrews.

The home game is in April, all being well City can make a significant contribution to Brum's demise by hammering them then.

They're not quite up with Wolves in the list of clubs I despise, but not far off.

I am quite pleased this is happening to the board of directors that thought being around the playoffs wasn't quite good enough and they should sack their manager.   Hopefully this farce is costing them tens of millions.

Colin Murray on 5 said the next manager at Brum should rent not buy a house, sums that and any many other clubs up with their clueless owners, thank god for SL I say !

Makes this a little bit awkward for Flints agent now. If I was Flint I'd be finding a new one and distance myself even further from the whole mess.

Did Flint ever want to go to Brum? Doubt it

I thought he'd had his head turned by Brums interest (and agents influence) and the wages being offered were more than we could compete with?

With this and Jamie getting the elbow from Louise it must be a bit quiet at Sunday lunch at the Redknapps.

I can just see the pair of them sitting in their pants eating spaghetti hoops out of the tin while watching Super Sunday.

Redknapp's 13 games in charge gave rise to just 3 wins. New players this this summer totalled over £15M before the transfer window closed. He signed a total of 14 players during his brief spell in charge.

Some of his departing interview with Sky Sports:

Quote

Redknapp cited injuries and a long-standing "losing mentality" as mitigating factors in City's poor run of results.

"It just seems when things start to go wrong, we just seemed to go under today," he said. "We got another hamstring after two minutes today - that's four hamstrings.

"That's not excuses, it's just the facts. It's made it difficult to get a settled team that you can think 'this is my team, go and play the next five or six games and get a bit of an understanding together'.

"It's been difficult, it's been a rushed job but we have to do better. It's not good enough."

Ummm, sounds like excuses to me :P

Dont let the Door hit your Dogs butt on the way out! I hope they get someone just like him in as a replacement, is Ron Atkinson still alive?

They still have their bank statements to cheer them up if things get too bad.

Harry is saying that he wasn't able to get the players in he wanted... so effectively he signed 14 players he didn't want.

Also said he doesn't think he'll get another managerial job, but sounds open to the idea of helping a young manager.

Fingers crossed Wally has heard this and 'Arry can help them reach their credit limit in record time.

Farewell Twitchy, you won't be missed.

Why people eulogise this corrupt chancer I have no idea.

First sentence completely unnecessary- his twitch comes from a serious car crash back in the 90s. By all means have a go at him for other well deserved reasons, but no need to insult him in that way.
