Port Said Red Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 Reading back through a recent Private Eye, I came across this, within an article about Southampton football club and their Chinese investors. It looks like any of the clubs that have Chinese backing need to be careful that they don't get caught out in the cold somewhere down the line.
Midlands Robin Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 This is the big problem with foreign investment. To them it's a case of easy come, easy go. They have no love, emotional investment or any sort of grounding in the club. The trouble is, with a few notable exceptions such as our Chairman, the days of the local wealthy business man being able to fund his team are all but over. The money pouring in to the top of the game is coming from overseas state investment, capital investment firms and huge corporations. None of these will stick around when the going gets tough.
Garland-sweden Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 Very thankful that we have our boss with no fake money. Dont know anything about the chinese owners in many Clubs. But who does? Offcause the rich people in China are more than rich If we compare to Europe.
Red Rag Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 Reading that it wont just be football up the creek we will all suffer. Another world wise financial crash on the cards. Dont you just love irresponsible bankers.
