Apologies if I've missed this information elsewhere, but it just occurred to me that Fam hasn't been selected in any of the recent Senegal Squads for their World Cup qualifiers.

Do they really have 4 or 5 better strikers than him at this moment in time? I see that they are top of their group and looking good for a place at next year's World Cup, so perhaps they are doing fine without him.

Would actually love to see him in Russia next year scoring the winner past England in the group stage ;)

In fairness, they do have quite a few. Diafra Sakho, Konate and Moussa Sow are all good forwards, plus they have scarily good wide players/forwards - Mane, Keita Balde Diao and Niang.

Ahhh fair enough, knew they had Mane but wasn't sure who their main no 9 was. Looks like it's Stoke's Diouf, who I think Fam could easily be as good as in the not too distant future!

Fam was in the initial 23 man Senegal squad for the 2017 ACON, but has now fallen out in regards to the World Cup qualifiers. Hopefully he can hit 15-20 in the Champ this year and force his way back in!!

Forwards: Sadio Mane (Liverpool England), Keita Balde Diao (Lazio, Italy), Moussa Konate (FC Sion, Switzerland), Famara Diedhiou (Angers, France), Mame Biram Diouf (Stoke, England), Ismaila Sarr (Metz, France), Moussa Sow (Fenerbahce, Turkey)

You would have thought Mane, Diao and Konate would be ahead of the big fella when picking a squad. How many strikers would a country take to Russia, maybe 4? He's got a chance to be fair!

I'm glad Fam's been snubbed this time round.

The club have managed his fitness very well and you can see that in his recent performances. He's getting fitter & stronger with each game that passes but it's had to be managed correctly - on & off the pitch. The bloke is so important to the way we play starting our press we could do without him flying out for Senegal duty potentially picking up fatigue and/or an injury at this time.

There will be more international caps to come in the future I'm sure.
