Guest Jack_95 Posted October 12, 2017 Posted October 12, 2017 Hiya guys, Just finished writing an article on Championship teams who have done better than initially expected. If you could spare me two minutes of your time and give it a read that would be amazing (I've put Bristol City in 4th place). Admittedly it doesn't go into loads of detail and is more just a general overview. Can always edit the article if you feel I've got anything wrong or something needs to be added. http://www.90min.com/posts/5659571-5-efl-championship-teams-who-have-defied-expectations Cheers! Jack
Admin Ian M Posted October 12, 2017 Admin Posted October 12, 2017 Not bad from an outsider's perspective but apprehension wasn't really soothed by the victory over Barnsley as our relegation fight last season followed a similar run last season where we were still top 6 at the start of November. It has been soothed a fair amount now due to our quality of performance this year compared to the same spell last year. Aden Flint is a legend for what he's done at the club, not least his response to being asked live on Sky if he wanted his old club Swindon to come up with us "No, no, NO!" (They'd been chanting "Aden Flint is a c***" during the interview) but we were prepared for his departure by signing Baker from Villa who has actually been our best CB this season. Diedhiou took a while to find his feet but with regards to Bobby Reid, you'd look like you knew your stuff if you described him as a reinvented striker as Johnson moved him up front in pre season and hasn't looked back.

Yeah, I didn't have much time to read up on all the teams unfortunately, although being an Ipswich fans I did get to see you guys play last week. I have to say I was very impressed, your front four caused us serious problems. I wasn't too sure where Reid was playing, whether in midfield or further up as he seemed to be everywhere. I'd heard that Diedhiou had looked a little of the pace prior to the town game, although I thought he was excellent against us - fast, good touch, and strong. I'm thinking of doing six articles on individual teams in the playoffs (when they settle down) where I'll be sure to go into more detail.
Major Isewater Posted October 12, 2017 Posted October 12, 2017 Very interesting. It's a tough, tough league is the Championship, any one can beat anyone which makes it all the more impressive that the clubs you quoted have started so well .
red panda Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 What are Sheff Utd doing on a list of clubs that have "defied expectations"? We've been in constant fear of them for years, and the only surprise this season is that they've dropped some points
