John Terry: Aston Villa skipper suffers broken metatarsal in right foot

Obviously going to be a big loss for Villa & will surely mean he'll miss a fair while of the remainder of the season & at least our game against them.

And Snodgrass has re-damaged ribs as well.

Does anyone know what Villa's position is with regards to FFP & if they are able to throw ridiculous amounts on transfers again during January or are they still restricted?

They are part of the Prem club so they can spend whatever they want. They bought McCormack, Kodjia and Hogan for about £40m 2 seasons ago.

But were only allowed to spend about £1m this summer without bringing some money in from player sales. They didn’t really spend anything this summer, if they had been allowed to, I’ve no doubt they would of spent another £20m+ on new players.

They get parachute payments, but are still bound by FFP, unless they do the 'go up or bust' route some of done, blowing the FFP out of the water in the hope it becomes irrelevant if they go up.

There were rumours that one of the reasons Baker got sold was that they needed to shift somebody to come back within FFP. Not sure how much truth there is in that, but read it on their fans site.

Huge loss for them but I’m sure they have others to come in and fill the gap left. If only they still had Baker eh?! ;)

6-12 weeks... I just found something on the interrnet about English footballers and metatarsal injuries showing their recovery times. I’d say Bruce is being optimistic with the 6 weeks...

David Beckham - 7 weeks

Wayne Rooney - 14 weeks

Michael Owen - 17 weeks

Scott Parker - 34 weeks

Danny Murphy - 21 Weeks
