Man Utd / Sevilla ticket dispute

Interested to hear peoples thoughts on this!

From Andy Mitten (United journalist) twitter:-

MUFC sending emails to Spain-bound fans saying Sevilla refusing to drop £89 price - the most expensive in MUFC history. MU will increase price for Sevilla fans to £89 and use £35 difference to subsidise MU fans. Sevilla fans, embarrassed at their club's prices, will now be stung.

The Spanish clubs are a joke.

I have been to Sevilla, Real Madrid and Barca. Sevilla was around £55 I think, Real was £82 if I remember correctly (was also a Champions League semi-final), and Barca was £89, for a group game, and Barca is the worst stadium of them all.

Cannot stand that club, but they are right here. Maybe they would garner more sympathy though, had they not charged Derby fans £45 for the FA Cup third round game last Friday.

Part of me thinks that United should be subsidising the game from their own vast wealth rather than punishing innocent Sevilla fans.  But then if they do that, Sevilla as a club effectively get away with it.  This way, at least they are forced to answer to their own fans.  Strikes me that UEFA need to intervene here and set a cap, though I'm not sure if they have the authority to do so.

Certainly agree that United aren't whiter than white themselves - and £45 for Derby fans was too much - but to be fair, £89 for an away tie in another country is a whole new level of disgraceful.

This is the basis of my view. Make Sevilla accountable for their actions.
