New training ground - problems

It is shite like this why Bristol is, and always will be the biggest village in the country. If Brunel was alive today he`d have had to have buggered off to Cardiff or somewhere to be able to actually get anything done.

I wonder how many of the members of these parish councils are also members of the golf club.

“The facilities will be impacting the area substantially – Bristol City are a hugely profitable organisation who should contribute to the community.”

So in other words give us money or we'll reject your proposal, sounds real ethical.... As for the part in bold errr really? Have they seen our annual reports?

Also for lack of parking, if the current parking on site is also available they have more than enough parking for an academy.

The local shyte stirring parish councillors are after one thing only, Section 106 agreements with payments from the developers, going to so called previously planned road improvements. As one scheming swine put it, Bristol City (Mr Lansdown) are a wealthy business and need to contribute to the community.

They are openly demanding a bribe, in order for them to support the application.

anyone who knows long ashton golf course will know that it is nigh on impossible to hit a ball onto the training ground from there unless your doing it on purpose......

I think the original concern was raised by the poor old golf club members, concerned that they might get hit by a wayward football. Along with their ears being assaulted by bad language from low life footballers.

It isn’t Bristol in this case though, it is North Somerset.

You know the place that elected Liam Fox by a total landslide...

Which was the only local authority that decided not to join the combined West of England authority? North Somerset.

Why? They thought the funds that were generated would all be spent in Bristol..

North Somerset has absolutely no interest whatsoever in helping with anything that makes Bristol better.

Loads of the complaints re Ashton Vale came from a Long Ashton (Tory) parish councillor, also in North Somerset...

Don't get me started.  The epitome of entitlement.

What total b**ks. Bristol City is most evidently NOT a hugely profitable concern. It's a hugely loss making concern. How can people get away with statements like that unchallenged?

Saying that Steve L is wealthy is a bit like saying that the combined wealth of all the members of Long Ashton Golf Club is huge, therefore the golf club should be doing something for he local community. But I suspect that there are more North Somerset and Long Ashton councillors who belong to the golf club than are season ticket homered at City. And - as a resident of N Somerset - I've come to realise that in this part of the world we still live in the 19th century, where Liam Fox thinks we should be trading with Persia and Mesopotamia, rather than Germany, and where in local politics it's all about who you know.

Self interest is the antithesis of community.  Its a very dangerous thing.  It's a very British thing unfortunately.

We as fans have an interest in Bristol City's improvement. Sadly, there are a large number of people who haven't the slightest interest whatsoever and will do their utmost to hinder so they can make a bit of a name for themselves before the next Parish elections. As a fan of Bath Rugby as well, frustration by self appointed self interested little groups is part and parcel of getting the tiniest thing done. I'm fed up with hearing about it all

The best argument I`ve ever heard for an expansion of the city`s southern boundary.

But those in Long Ashton and Failand live closer to the City centre with all its amenities, while paying a lower Council tax rate than Bristolians.

And of course the EP LOVE shit stirring and bringing bad news to City fans...meanwhile everything is hunky dory at the swamp !

Absolutely spot on Slarti. There has been a constant flow of negative stories about BCFC in recent times, most of it nothing to do with the actual playing side, let alone throughout the six decades I've followed their biased coverage of football in Bristol.

One can only assume now, it's because City are by far the bigger more newsworthy club in the region, so therefore attracting more readers. It has nothing whatsoever to do with the historically favourable press for BRFC coupled with shyte stirring for BCFC, due to the editorial staff and their long term associations with BRFC.

And North, East and West. The towns surrounding Bristol are only there in their present form because of Bristol. They should be reminded of that at every opportunity.

Knock some bloody sense into them....i would imagine all 18 holes would be in range for Frankie's goal kicks...

Having worked in Local Govt for 32 years its shite like this that drove me out. And yes, Councillors pull the strings with the staff the puppets dancing to their tune. Bollocks to that.

I never voted for him.

Never have and never will.

Only ever seen the bloke in Clevedon once, and I've lived there for forty years!!!

Takes his electorate for granted.

Total ******!!!

:shocking:

I hadn't realised that any of us can add to support the clubs proposal

There is a drive this morning to get as many supporters as possible to enter our support for the clubs application, it only takes a few minutes

https://planning.n-somerset.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=neighbourComments&keyVal=P0SKSYLP02J00
