internetjef
Will be interesting to see if we play Weimann just off Fam when he is back from suspension. Could carry some goal threat if that combo clicks. 1 Quote Link to comment

We win, followed by posts about how everyone has overreacted, give it all time to get players back, it will all be ok and frankly, play offs are pretty much guaranteed. B Draw, followed by posts about how we are rubbish and will never ever win away again. C Lose, and if you do not accept we are certainly relegated after four games you are a happy clapper who is most likely LJs love child. To be honest, if it is C, think I will stay away for a few days. I can stay, praise be the Lord! Quote Link to comment
Ska Junkie
I'll take that. Yes, QPR are awful and we won ugly but it's good for confidence and a win's a win. Well done fellas. 5 Quote Link to comment
TV Tom
Cannot believe how good Kelly was albeit against a woeful QPR, Weimann and Brownhill also superb Quote Link to comment

Not a bad start all things considered. It's not the results that bother me, it's too early for that. It's the lack of a real style or game plan when compared to last season and the odd selections. When you look at the performances they've been pretty weak and two of the four teams we've played have been abysmal. Let's see how it goes but for me the gleam we had in the first half of the season last time round is well and truly worn off and LJ has a lot to do to get back into credit. 2 Quote Link to comment
lenred
Who’s this bloke slyly slagging Taylor on RB ffs? He’s a happy chappy! Well done City, QPR are obviously dog dirt but but a 0-3 win at any team in this division is an absolutely fantastic result. Quote Link to comment
Numero Uno
The main positive from tonight is the three points must surely give us a bit more confidence going into Saturday. Because we can’t afford to turn in that first half performance at Swansea. 1 Quote Link to comment

His performance tonight justifies Johnson letting him go, just awful. If you consider where the promotion team are playing now, compared to where Freeman is shows how truly overrated he was. Even our sub full back and CM out on loan are in the Premier League. 1 Quote Link to comment
Ska Junkie
Fair play to Eros Pisano, I thought he looked decent at CB. Poor spectacle though wasn't it? Not that we care. 1 Quote Link to comment

A game lacking in quality for the large part, but a very professional performance from us. We did what we've been saying we need to work on and took our chances and largely kept QPR at arm's length, a clean sheet with 2 main centre backs out. We saw out the game, just as Boro did against us. But unlike Boro, we didn't sit back with 30%/40% possession, rely on worldie saves and the woodwork twice to keep a clean sheet and a win. First win of the season, onwards and upwards. It was always going to be a tricky game and it wasn't pretty, we scored 3 great goals and it is a much needed 3 points, but be honest we rode our luck at times and once more the luck we needed to ride was all self inflicted, if we had missed the chances that QPR missed I think there would have been uproar. I agree with the Middlesborough analogy to a degree but we have to cut out the defensive errors. Quote Link to comment

Fair play we got a result but it's still a concerning start to the season. He picked a side he thought would win them the game and they did of course it’s worrying, we’ve got 5 new players that need to bed in and we are missing fielding, baker, smith, Diedhiou amongst others , all this on top of losing 3 quality players it’s bound to be a struggle for a while 2 Quote Link to comment

It’s odd that in some ways football wise I think that was our worst effort so far today. We seemed to change our style entirely and up to the first goal the game was tragic. If Fammy is out at all, we have to have a Plan B up front. QPR created more chances than a clean sheet warrants, but the mood would have been toxic if we had lost. Buys us a bit of time, which we certainly need! Edited August 21, 2018 by cityexile Quote Link to comment

Northern Red
First goal was crucial. Gave us a huge boost just before half time and knocked the stuffing out of them after they'd been slightly the better side up to that point. If it had gone the other way then we weren't getting anything out of that, given the performance up to that point. Quote Link to comment
CHAZ MICHAELS
Not a great performance but the result all important tonight in what was always going to be a poor game between two teams lacking confidence. Quote Link to comment

We certainly won't be pushing play-offs on that performance put it that way. 1 Quote Link to comment
Major Isewater
Well done lads , a big , big win. All I asked was that we got at our opponents and that's what we did tonight . A good team performance, special mentions for Taylor , Weimann, Kelly , Pisano, Maenpaa, Brownhill but all round a battling display , all the players did well. Pack is a warrior. A really solid showing. Quote Link to comment
