There is advertisement everywhere in the world, if someone wants to gamble, drink, smoke do drugs they will, it isn't the fault of city having it as a sponsor! City got a very good deal from what they said so stop trying to use it as a way to slag the club off
JamesBCFC
Quote "The most common activities that children gamble on are not licensed casinos, bingo providers or bookies. "Instead we found children preferred to gamble in informal environments, out of sight of regulation - private bets between friends or playing cards with their mates for money." So not what Dunder are then.

If your answer is yes, guess what, you’re a gambler. Risk/reward is a part of life. Whether that’s approaching a girl in a bar, changing job, embarking upon university and £50k of debt, picking your bank account, choosing how to invest your money (even if not consciously choosing). It’s about time the recreation of it is less stigmatised in my opinion. I also feel no distaste in ‘underage’ gambling. Yes it can be addictive, but this is capitalism and the whole way we exist is risk/reward. People need to learn what is acceptable and unacceptable risks to merely exist nowadays. That’s an absolute fact in capitalism.

The Constant Rabbit
And once again, in 'no-blame snowflake Britain' - it's not the parents fault...... The state bears no responsibility to be a parent. Every British child won the post-code lottery. Free education for 18 yrs Free health care (inc mental health) Etc etc The country has done it's bit. How about parents remember to teach their children right from wrong? 95% of the rest of the world's parents would kill to give their children the chance they have in "The West" The amount of parents who abdicate all responsibility for the child they created is appalling. Guest
You make your choices in life but the same day this story broke was also the day we heard that the CEO was paid £265m for one year of work with bet 365 which she partly owns. Some things in life are just plain wrong but its not BCFC at fault.

Some things in life are just plain wrong but its not BCFC at fault. She is the daughter of Peter Coates who owns Stoke City and made much of his money from gambling. One could also say that SL made his fortune from other peoples money in a form of gambling? But all addictions stem from complicated scenarios. And all addicts, whether it be tobacco, alcohol, gambling or even coca cola, chocolate, arise partially from an individuals lack of self discipline and/or a fear of being found out. Bombardment by advertising has grown significantly with the advent of mass media which is a lot more invasive than when I was a child. But it was there but a lot more subtle. Parents have a huge responsibility and it's clear that some are unable or unwilling to bear this. The old maxim "A little bit of everything is good for you. But a lot of one thing is not good." You really are scraping the barrel to even consider that Bristol City have a hand in the increased child betting problem. Not a surprise, because I find it hard to recall a single decent post you’ve ever made, but even for you, this is woeful trolling. Anyway, let’s hope we can get something from the game up at Leeds. Having a gambling company sponsor does not force people to pick up their phone, create an account and start gambling away all their hard earned money. It's just a name on a shirt. Just like all City fans weren't taking out DAS Insurance or buying used cars from Bristol Trade Centre.

Too much pocket money. Until I left school at seventeen, I never had pocket money from parents. Cash was provided by parents if they had it when needed. Back in the days when most families spent 50% of income on mortgage or rent, 45% on food, heating and lighting and 5% for everything else.
Spike
Children are becoming gambling addicted due to gaming, not shirt sponsors. Almost every sport game has some form of cloaked gambling in it and any game with "loot boxes" encourage real money spending on luck based outcome. I hate the gambling take over of shirt sponsors but as stated above, gaming is more of the issue with kids and that's coming from someone who has been gaming for the best part of 30 years. MichaelRobartes
I do think that there should be more regulation of the endless plethora of in-play gambling adverts, especially during live sport. People don't even have to go down the bookies anymore, they can just open an app on their phone, without necessarily thinking of how much they've spent/lost. To be honest I don't particularly like the fact that we have a betting company on our gear now, but I believe that the ads I've mentioned above are far more insidious than anything any football club has on its jersey. There is an absolutely massive distinction between the two. "People need to learn what is acceptable and unacceptable risks to merely exist nowadays. You're right each will stimulate in very different ways, but only because one has 'prize' and one has 'reinstatement'. They are both aleatory contracts - agreements on uncertain events. Here in Estonia, you cannot bet online unless it is an Estonian provider and there are not many, no high street betting shops either, the only ones you can use are in Casinos, I can't even get football streams from any online betting site, as the Customs board blocks it.
