Miah Dennehy
What I hate about this sort of bullshit, is the claim that a colour is 'known to have a calming effect on crowds'. Firstly, there is absolutely no way on earth you can prove it, secondly, in a high profile match e.g. City v Millwall, I can pretty much guarantee that if both sides want a fight, the colour of the rail staffs jackets, will make **** all difference. 22A
"Virgin Trains said its event hosts are wearing pink high visibility vests because the colour “is known to have a calming effect on crowds”. In that case, they should wear it during the commuting peak times also. If the French police wore pink, would the yellow shirts calm down and go home? A Horse With No Name
Customer service staff at Ashton Gate, or Happy To Help staff, have worn pink tabards for years. I presume as they are there to sort out supporters queries and complaints, it is for exactly the same reason.

Only ‘on or near the line’. So platform staff who aren’t dispatching trains can wear any colour.

BTRFTG
Well at least it'll be easy to spot who we're not supposed to abuse when the train is: Late; Cancelled; Full (due to short trains;) Buffetless; Devoid of a clean and working crapper; Diverted or slow for no apparent reason......
