Chairman Mao
Appreciate a bunch of people will be crying jinx but.. ...in 2007-08 we got 74pts. This season we have 65 with 6 games still to play. I know that points distribution has changed over the years but does anyone know, if we did get 75pts, when would be the last time, at this level, we would have achieved this or better? slartibartfast
pro-rata, the 76 promo season I should think .

But four games fewer, so 1.71ppg. Multiply 1.71 by 46 gives you 78.66 points. So to "beat" the performance of that season you could argue we need 79 points this season. I think most wins in a season at this level was the season prior to promotion when we won 21. Could be wrong, I've not forensically checked the stats. 4 wins from the last six and that record could go.

Only 2 points for a win meant that the incentive to play attacking football away from AG was limited. My guess is that those 15 draws would have been a lot less if there had been 3 points for a win back then.

Then just this season if you look at the teams around us, those likely to finish on 70-75 points, most will end up with around 13-15 draws. Just from this it looks like 3 points for a win hasn't massively reduced the number of draws that a top 6 team gets in tier 2.
