First activity of the transfer window. Youngsters Maya Kendall (Kendell?) & Fearne Slocombe gone out on loan to Exeter City

Could be a good move, Exeter going well in 3rd tier. They're away to leaders Ipswich on Sunday, interesting to see if they make the starting XI.

I don't follow really follow the National League but they could face off against former City striker Ella Rutherford, who's now at Ipswich.

I know Ipswich have Man City away in the FA Cup next weekend which will be interesting

Mari Ward – Bristol City

"Ward has started seven times and made nine league appearances for Bristol City as they bid to jump straight back up into the WSL. The wing-back joined the club’s academy from Plymouth in 2022 and made her debut for the senior side in January 2023. The 18-year-old signed her first professional contract in January 2024 and has been a key part of the team’s battle for promotion, with City currently level on points with table-topping Birmingham but with an inferior goal difference. She has represented England at under-17 and under-19 levels"

She was 18 at the time the article was written a couple of days ago, as today is her birthday!

No, nor me apart from Lewes who I have a soft spot for. Ipswich have a goal difference of +47 after 11 games,

Didn't realise Gwalia is basically Cardiff City women.

*Cardiff City Ladies. Gwalia United are in the English system

To confuse things, there is a separate Cardiff City Women (affiliated with the football club), but play in the Welsh league

In the past I've taken songs from the men's team & adapted for (players in) the women's team. So it's nice, even if unintentional, to see a chant used for Chloe Mustaki be adapted for Luke McNally

Thank you, I think that's cleared that up 🤣

Jess Simpson signed on loan from Manchester United

Am surprised she's back at the club, especially after her loan last season ended very abruptly due to her ACL injury. Hopefully she'll have a more successful spell this time

Don't know much about her, read she is left sided defender but whether that's LB, LWB or LCB pass. Only 19. Maybe good signing, but was hoping for a more experienced strong CB as that I see as the biggest weakness in our team.

Emily Syme up for December's player of the month. Lexi Lloyd-Smith's & Amalie Thestrup's goals against Durham are both up for December goal of the month

Voted for Emily, she's been great all season but superb lately.

There's another thread about it, but City are one of the four Women's Championship clubs taking part in the alcohol drinking trial. Will start with the game against London City Lionesses & continue for the rest of the season in the league...

Am awaiting update for revised coach departure time from Ashton Gate...

Those that have already purchased coach travel should have been emailed with the new departure time of 10.30am

Also, the coach has now sold out!

Has Greta Humphries had her loan cancelled?

According to Charlton she's now with them for the rest of the season.

The game was going to be live on FA Player, wonder if it still will be at the new KO time?

On YouTube, and yes from what I understand

Official announcements made by Chelsea, Charlton & Bristol City at or after 3pm. But Greta posted on her Instagram story well before then saying her thanks to the club.

Gutted to see her go, but she wasn't getting the game time here

Some points from today's press conference (other than Greta & Maddy leaving)

- Lia O'Leary & Jess Simpson adding more left footed options. Both available for this Sunday

- Two more new signings expected

- Arsenal away will be a high-level challenge

- Mari Ward still injured & not expected back until end of January. Sille Struck currently ill & is being monitored ahead of the game

Press conference now on Spotify

Cup match has been postponed

Boreham Wood had their game postponed today after their corresponding pitch inspection.
Gutted for the supporters planning to travel, but at least the news was confirmed by both Arsenal & Bristol City this afternoon, as opposed to tomorrow morning when many supporters would already be on their travels

Just watching the Aston Villa vs Gas Women game on YouTube, Was currently getting pumped 9-0 (Rachel Daley also had 3 disallowed in the first half), and just heard that Villa are managed by a certain former Bermudian striker of ours. Have to say, the Rovers team are pretty terrible!

Not that I would ever want to defend Rovers, but they are still a part-time team even though they've been taken over by the club as opposed to being run by their community trust.

I didn't watch the game, but I wonder if they had a fair number of away fans, especially as the men's team were away to Ipswich in the men's FA Cup

Crowd of 972. Gushing report on Bristol 247. Apparently, Bristol's sporting success story.

Rescheduled for Wed 29th Jan 7.45 apparently. Not bad as will give our new players time to bed in.

Shahan, I was at the game and think I heard there was around 300-320 Rovers fans there. Total crowd was 972.

City men are at home to Swansea on February 9th. If we do reach the next round, the game will either have to be at the HPC or at Ashton Gate on another day (Saturday 8th?)

I can assume that was for work/OPTA reasons...

There's more chance of me getting to the moon than our women's team beating Arsenal

Steve Kirby Championship Manager of the Month for December & Emily Syme Championship Player of the Month.

Great to see how the club is bouncing back after last season.

Hopefully they carry on the good form and batter LCL on Sunday. LCL are looking pretty good though, especially up front.
