Bristol Boy Posted August 4, 2004 Posted August 4, 2004 Akinfenwa, signed from Doncaster, looks a likely starter and he is your classic big raw boned, lower division centre forward. Last season, he was at Doncaster Rovers for a while scoring 7 in 7 appearances, whilst getting one yellow and one red card! Gritton and Kufour are Lee Miller and Leroy Lita lookalikes with Grittons record being 4 in 17 last year and Kufour, not as prolofic as LL by far, scoring 10 in 33. City old boys Jason Fowler & Liam Rosenior are also in the squad, the latter being on loan from Fulham. If Gritton and Kufour start, I'd partner either Coles & Hill or Coles & Fortune(if not needed due to TD's absence) at CB.
Rich-TWSC- Posted August 4, 2004 Posted August 4, 2004 Your match should prove very interesting as alot of there squad are League 2 players with little experience, I think your disadvantage is your playing them opening match and they will be so up for it, I think it will feel like an F.A Cup match where the unfancied Torquay will fight against the bigger and better City.
Guest willgas83 Posted August 4, 2004 Posted August 4, 2004 Rovers' fans no all about Akinfenwa getting sent off. It was against us at the Mem, towards the end of last season. He got in a punch-up with Kevin Austin.
The Casual Connoisseur Posted August 4, 2004 Posted August 4, 2004 Agree swindle agree, they will be well up for it. If gritton looks like Lee miller I suggest he gets himself down the barbers and gets rid of that rigiculous Barnet.
madmax Posted August 4, 2004 Posted August 4, 2004 I'm sure Liam will be given a standing ovation when he graces our pitch !! MM

Red Cloud Posted August 4, 2004 Posted August 4, 2004 hasn't exactly taken the football world by storm as he expected has he? - what an idiot! if he'd stayed he'd more than likely been playing 1st team football all last season in div 2 not div 3!
NailseaRed Posted August 4, 2004 Posted August 4, 2004 we so have to think of a chant to aim at liam. didn't he say he was moving onto a bigger club? haha Surely we can bring up that he's only even at THAT club cos his dad felt pity on him! Wonder if that chamberlin bird will be there
