Period. direct quote from Tins: "I want three attacking players on the bench.... In my 11 years at the club we must have used a sub keeper about twice. By the law of averages you have to say it is wasting a substitute's place to have a keeper on the bench." direct quote from Me: "By the law of Murphy you have to say Steve Phillips is going to be crocked by Boxing Day, and once again January will be ######." Tunley Legend
I would have a keeper on the bench every time.
jimmyb
used to discuss this with my mate when wilson had a spell not playing a keeper on the bench - if I'm the opposition manager first thing i'd tell my centre forward to do is clatter phillips a la joe jordan style!! might not seem over sporting but with no keeper on the bench could be advantageous to the opposition! Guest Swiss Baloney
I would have a keeper on the bench every time. ← I agree with Tinman on this I cant remember the last time we subed the keeper and if it is only for 20mins of a game then the benifits outway the risks
sephjnr
I agree with Tinman on this I cant remember the last time we subed the keeper and if it is only for 20mins of a game then the benifits outway the risks ← I think the poor sod that was a main part of the offence/defence who had to replace Steve would object to that statement. And as the Playoff Semi proved, anything can happen in the last 20 minutes. ANYTHING.

94th Minute
Ive got to say that this seems like a good move,it could also be based on an outfeilders goalkeeping skills?
Guest Rob
Surely it would be better for opposition to send a striker out to crock phillips and even if he did get sent off then wud you rather play for 89mins with 10 men or the opposition play with no keeper? Interesting scenario and one i hope we wont face.
bcfc seattle
Don't forget that Tinman has been quoted many times saying he loves playing keeper. Maybe no keeper on bench means Tinman will be on the bench?
