A Horse With No Name
Yes, my abiding memory is , like most TV shows, how a 30 minute programme took about 4 hours to film.
miser
I was there. My main memory is being moved around the Grandstand, so they could film the "crowd" scenes.

I thought when Dickie was doing his introduction in the carpark, he was addressing the 1000s locked out, just like at a Rovers game.

Nogbad the Bad
What I remember is the almighty scrap in the enclosure, with Dickie Davies, a huge grin on his face as usual, continuing to present to camera apparently blissfully unaware of the mayhem unfolding behind him.

hollydog
Yes! In the enclosure. Whatever anybody’s view of the quality of the programme it did bring us national tv coverage.
myol'man
Yeah, travelled up from WsM expecting to see a football version of It's a Knockout. In a word, rubbish!
1960maaan
Vague memories. I remember them getting us to cheer when the "next" program was supposed to start. Can't remember how many they filmed at a time, but they broke it into episodes.

Yes and each new episode seen Dickie Davies change into a different suit as couldn't have people watching it on TV and noticing that he had the same suit on as the previous week although in reality the entire series was filmed in a couple of days.
Red Duster
Yes was in the Grandstand. Can also remember going to an Evil Knieval stunt show at the gate in the 70’s but unfortunately him not being there, think he got injured doing a jump. Port Said Red
Wasn't the format of this owned by the club? I think they were hoping to syndicate it around the world? I seem to remember Dickie Davis trying to add a score together and Brian Moore making some catty remark like "you'd never believe he had a maths degree would you?" OneCity
Only in the 70s. That decade was mental. God I miss it...
RedRock
Yep, I was there too. Also remember an almighty scrap in the enclosure right in front of me. No idea what it was about as there were no ‘away’ fans

Wonder if they'd be up for it still?

No idea what it was about as there were no ‘away’ fans It all came out in the wash (i.e. the EP) - a group of Rovers yobs (envious no doubt both of our promotion, and City hosting All in the Game) came in looking for trouble, and very much found it. It took quite a while for the police to sort it out and yank out the warring factions, and much of the fists flying and crowd surging was caught on film behind the incongruously chuckling Dickie Davies. 9 arrests iirc, it was indeed an almighty scrap. Atlanta_Red
I was in the enclosure. City got knocked out in the later stages so most fans wanted to leave at that point. As they were filming several episodes on the trot, they needed people to stay so at least there would be a crowd, so I remember them almost begging us to remain behind. I think I left. Rocking Red Cyril
Yes I was there But that's about all I remember. Would of had Dolman season tickets on those days so guess that where I was
BTRFTG
Yes. If memory serves wasn't it filmed on a Sunday afternoon and given there was sod all else to do in those days it seemed like a good idea. It wasn't.

Port Said Red
I have a further mmeory of this, in that I think they did a tedt event as a bit of pre season entertainment. I seem to remember Alan Hinton bringing a bunch of their uouth lads and they were absolutely brilliant at it. Anyone else with a better memory than me have any ideas?
