I've always felt that many 50-50's are decided before either player reaches the ball (i.e. I'm coming towards the ball flat out and looking aggressive - do you have the balls to match my aggression/commitment?). Quite often I think our answer to such a question is "No". Don't mean to pick on individuals, but Bakinson has been guilty of this multiple times in the last couple of games, for example. He will get his leg broken at some point.

It’s all little trips (Bakinson - which I liked) and shirt pulls. By my reckoning it was Cameron Pring v Luton, when he left one on Harry Cornick. Need a few more George Tanner tackles. Let their opposite number know they’ve been in a battle. COYR I would say even that Backinson lacked a little street smarts, it was a good trip but he knew he was going to get a yellow so could have gone in much stronger and taken a chunk rather than just throwing a foot in a tripping the player. I know the game has changed a lot but its always nice to see someone get hit in the air (fairly of course) But like young Louis Britton against Brentford.
Red_Alligator
As a spectator, nothing beats a thunderous, but fair challenge, where both players get straight back up, give one another a look, and then get on with the game. That's good sporting action.
Midred
There still seem to be a lot of 50/50 balls we back away from.
