On another football forum,

it was stated that the three leagues of the EFL received an income £54 million pounds as opposed to a normal season of £7-£10 million pounds

Most of the income,I presume, would have been generated by the towards the top of the league clubs in the Championship which were not on sky

Interesting one. I imagine most streams cost the same to fans, whatever their Division. The amount would then depend on the numbers paying for the streams. Obviously it noway makes up for the loss in Season ticket money, but around £44m in streaming income would have paid some bills. As you say, probably weighted towards the top of the Championship (better support) with maybe the odd exception.

Did a very un scientific analysis of Bristol City

If we say 20,000 attendance for EVERY home game at fifteen pounds per head over the season

That would out Bristol City gets/got 7 million 200 hundred thousand pounds

BUT

There are many factors to be fed in as well

1)those who would not subscribe

2) as well several persons using the service as a group in their house hold

One flaw….we rarely get 20k attendances these days.

Quid pro quo was the Sky deal in 2018 which expanded the streaming rights that now allow red button services.

I've kept a season ticket though only as it allows me to keep a seat. Given the convenience and now expanded presence of being able to watch City via my existing Sky contract there's really little point on my renewing next season ( in truth there hasn't been for many a season.) If so, City lose that chuck of upfront money, I have to buy access to fewer games of benefit to City, plus those I do I could potentially split with like-minded supporters.
