Will City Still Get Auto Promotion

I'd be interested to gauge if anyone who thought that City were nailed on for automatic promotion before a ball was kicked this season, have changed their minds after the first 2 games?

Bearing in mind that is a valuable 4 points dropped already, are we to rely on another 14 games unbeaten, or 11 straight winning streak to get City closing in on promotion again this season?

Paul Hart is on record as saying Barnsley HAD to win tonight if they are to be considering promotion this season, as it is teams like City that had to be beaten for this reason. Are Barnsley & Torquay the types of teams City HAD to beat to be considered as serious promotion hopefuls?

I'm sorry to say this but as far as things are going at the moment I will say no. If we get our act together and start winning the games then maybe a top 6th spot. We just have to remember that every point counts, last year we missed out on automatic promotion by 2 points. We need to start getting the points now.

Like every other season, I hoped we'd do well, though with new faces in key positions (including Tinnion), I believed that automatic promotion was always going to be an optimistic shout.

Here's a bold prediction. We'll win only once in August! We'll pick up in September! If Tinnion thinks that pressure is growing - he's right...and it aint going to get any better 'til we string together back to back victories.

To answer your question, my opinion after 2 games is that we will definately not go up. however I think if Tinns ditches this awful formation and goes back to using width then we definately have the players to do the business.

We need to get 90/92 points over 8 months, not at any particular time of the season. If we take a few games to get things right then obtain the 90 odd points we need it doesnt matter to me although 30 straight wins at the start of the season would be better!!

Here we go, less than a week in to the season and everyone is doom & gloom!!

Who cares what we think lets deal with facts!! :Costumed89:

If I remember correctly Plymouth started last season with 1 point from the opening couple of games!! and look at them now, Nothing is decided after 4 days of a football season, although Iwould agree it hasnt been the best of starts!!

Lets look at it after 10,12 games then we can all make a more balanced assesment for what this season holds.

I have complete faith in Tinman and know he will get it right! :D
