No sign of Weimann either, hope he’s getting a deserved rest.

He deserves it: how he managed what he did at Wigan was remarkable.

I thought he took a bit of a knock on Sunday too; he seemed to limp a bit for a while, and was moving his knee about a bit tentatively. All first half and he played through it, so clearly not a concern, but maybe not risk it this week?

His wife is on holiday with the children

Id have been tempted to say , go and have a few days with them

Quite possible Nige has given him that option.

He gave Klose the chance to have a few days off the other week, so he could be with his newborn, but he said with Atkinson carrying a knock it was best he stayed around.

Just thinking the same good atmosphere .

Yeah I’m thinking the same too! Couple of solid wins and clean sheets and knowing you’ve played well has got to boost everyone. Wells looks like he’s having a great time! Hopefully we can take the confidence of knowing how well we can play into the next few matches

Stop it, I'm starting to feel optimistic again!

I thought the same when I watched it and was minded of this part of NP's article on Coach's Voice:

Regarding Wells - since he’s had a run in the team he looks confident, happy and seems pleased to be here.

It was even good to see him really annoyed at being subbed on Sunday - which showed he has the hunger again to score goals!

Don't know if anyone else saw it - but as the players were walking around the pitch at the end Klöse put his arm around Nakhi as if he was consoling him for coming off.

So yes - looks like a happy camp, mixed with hunger!

Get him back in the squad the game after the window closes

Did similar with Flint in 2007 iirc...took him out of the firing line when Birmingham were keen, no games while window open.

Scored the winner at Reading 1st game after the window shut, a Reading who had made the playoff final the year before and quite strong at home at that time.

Always remember being told the day before he was starting, placed two bets;

Flint to score first and City to win

Flint to score last and City to win

Made a very nice profit on the back of this

Used to love being able to bet on Flint to score.

Great odds for a long time as the bookies didn't pick up on the fact that he was scoring regularly.

The season after our promotion, he was around the same odds as our strikers to score anytime.
