double standards over radio football commentarys?

Recommended Posts

The premier league are allowed to broadcast their games over the internet if your listening in the U.K.

The nathional league(thats where Yeovil are,and the other were) is allowed to broadcast its games over the internet

So why does the EFL block their games being broadcast over the internet?

Even talksport 2 is allowed to broadcast the EFL games with out restricitions

Because they have sold the rights elsewhere.

Fair enough, but it suits when suits the EFL.

I am still amazed(although pleased) that the EFL allowed  their EFL games to broadcast on freeview in the viewers/listeners area.

See you at Blackburn on Saturday and Norwich in two weeks time?

Doubt it. Rarely bother going to away games these days.

I'll probably listen to the commentary.

Who has the rights then?

Was surprised to hear the R*vers game on 94.9FM on Saturday. Isn't it usually the away team on FM and the home team on DAB?

Not that it's right, but that was also the case for the Hull game, no? It's definitely not 100% clear.

Helps that PL clubs get £100m per year per team from domestic Sky rights alone!

Didn't know this about PL clubs though. Was out of Bristol Saturday but managed to follow the game on BCFC Audio, £2.50 Robins TV. Seems fair and a vital revenue stream for clubs like ours.

I watch the games on Channel 9. Methetheth, methethetheth Aleex Scott, passalaball....................................................Tommy Conway, scorchio!!!!!! Bono Estente.

Just gone through my recordings from last saturdays games

City were  on Bristol DAB 95:5(the somerset frequencey) and freeview 719 and 722.

The other lot WERE on 1566MW, somerset DAB, 94:9 and 104:6 in Bath.

The team from East devon or is it Norff Devon?

were not covered as their games are allowed to broadcast over the internet.

Like I have said so many times, get a freeview aerial installed,at lest you will get City games every other week in crystal clear mono.any where in the South West of England

It’s flipped this season and we’ve been on DAB for our away games. So far anyway! I only found out when I heard their dreadful co-commentator  droning on a few weeks ago.

Wouldn't surprise me if they've found that more people listen on DAB than FM these days and swapped it round as a result.
