These England games on Friday evening and Monday evening is it done on purpose?

If you have had a long day at work(monday),do you really want to travel to London for an uninspiring match even if you have got match day tickets

Considering its also LIVE on Channel 4.

Why can't these games be Thursday/Sunday(3pm?) or Saturday(3pm?)/Tuesday

The 2 international games are played 3 days  apart. Either Thursday/Sunday, Friday/Monday or Saturday/Tuesday.

Dates dictated by UEFA.  Don't think the travel arrangements of specific England fans are considered.

The dates of the games are arranged by UEFA, it’s beyond the FA’s control.

I like travelling up for the evening games,
The 19:45 KO does make it easier to get back to Paddington for the 22:30 back to Bristol.
At a push we might now get the 22:00 too....

So yeah I prefer 19:45 to 20:00

Linked to central TV deals no doubt.

Not that long ago, was the norm for UEFA and FIFA World Cup qualifiers to be Saturday-Wednesday. The odd Friday or Sunday qualifier for individual nations aside and the bulk of the time England home games, indeed Home Nations home qualifiers on a Saturday would kick off at 3pm.

European nations probably chose the slots on the day that suited them, different time zones, history of foorball at 3pm or evening etc- seemed a better system tbh.

Albeit probably less lucrative.

Friday night one is an away game in Italy anyway, why wouldn't that kick off at 7.45pm??

Plus the Germany game is on a Monday night, so again 7.45pm seems par.

A better example would be England v Italy behind closed doors at Molineux in 2021. That was a Saturday kick off and was at 7.45pm.
