GrahamC Posted January 4, 2023 Posted January 4, 2023 If I had bet on Rotherham to get promoted then relegated every season & Ferguson then McCann to be Peterborough manager I could have made enough money to retire years ago. 3 Quote
One Team Posted January 4, 2023 Posted January 4, 2023 Never go back seems to be lost on them! To quote Twitter: Darren Ferguson has been appointed Peterborough manager during the presidencies of every US president after Bill Clinton. 1 12 Quote

Merrick's Marvels Posted January 4, 2023 Posted January 4, 2023 (edited) Darragh MacAnthony - a man who knows what he likes and likes what he knows. There's plenty like that, up Peterborough way. Edited January 4, 2023 by Merrick's Marvels 2 Quote
Mattredrobin Posted January 4, 2023 Posted January 4, 2023 It's only till the end of the season and their statement suggests they didn't actual want him to leave in the first place he walked away. But it is a bit odd to keep going back to him. Quote

Lanterne Rouge Posted January 4, 2023 Posted January 4, 2023 Do you reckon they have one house that they bought together and whichever one is in charge lives in it? 1 7 Quote

Its definitely a job-share and makes sense in these austere times. I can see it happening at Rovers with Barton rotating with a lamp post. 2 Quote

They only had to agree on the carpets, decor, large furniture, white goods etc. and then put all their personal stuff in the loft when they get sacked and get the other one`s down. In the unlikely event of another manager getting appointed they could either house share or let it out. Quote

Do you think they rearrange it each time and then put it back again a few months later when they get their job back? Whole thing is bonkers. 1 Quote
Taz Posted January 4, 2023 Posted January 4, 2023 (edited) I don't get Peterborough at all. On one hand they're very shrewd when it comes to transfer dealings - good prices, decent sell-ons etc, and also make it clear that if you aren't going to sign a contract going into the final year of your existing one, then you're transfer listed. On the other hand, they sack one bloke, appoint the previous one to him, and then do exactly the same thing the next time around. It's absolutely bonkers, and surely there can't be another situation like it anywhere else can there? I mean I get that sometimes a manager returns to a previous club when things don't work out elsewhere, but to go back that many times..... Have they both got something on someone very high up like chicken fiddling or something? Edited January 4, 2023 by Taz Had to switch browsers as the one I posted on originally (on my phone) adds hundreds of line breaks!!!! 1 Quote

Guest Posted January 5, 2023 Posted January 5, 2023 They’ve had 12 different managers since 2009 (not including caretakers). Six of them have been Darren Ferguson and Grant McCann. Quote
