1960maaan
Apparently they have moved the Arsenal Vs Chelsea game, not sure what the grounds for postponing it are. It was due for 29th of April, Saturday 5:30 kick off. There is another London derby, West Ham at Palace, that's a 12:30 kick off so not sure that impacts this one. Arsenal Supporters Trust are contacting the mayor , the Met's overseer . The game is now scheduled for the Tuesday ( 2nd May ) . This will cause no end of problems for any fans travelling as they would have already made arrangements, no thought or care for fans again. The Athletic report; “The initial scheduling of this match was approved at a Safety Advisory Group (SAG) meeting in February. However, the Metropolitan Police has now revised its position regarding the kick-off time and requested a further SAG meeting which determined the match had to be rescheduled. “We regret the need to move this fixture at late notice and the impact this will have on supporters. The game will remain live on Sky Sports.”
Lanterne Rouge
I bet the 29th is when the Met are rehearsing for the Coronation a week later. If they just said that, I`m sure everyone would be fine with it.

Plus there may be police leave constraints around the coronation which has a knock on effect.

That's exactly what's happened. All leave cancelled for the coronation, so a lot who are affected are taking it the weekend before instead. Of course, they probably should have realised this when they initially agreed to the game being played on the Saturday, but there we are...
slartibartfast
I don't really see the problem. How much will this disrupt travel arrangements ? It's not like it's Arsenel v Newcastle........... what is it, 10 miles , give over, bit annoying but hardly a catastrophe !
Never to the dark side
I have to agree with slartibartfast, they teams are only a few miles apart.
W-S-M Seagull
Arsenal fans should probably concentrate on complaining about how their season tickets have gone up and the matches a ticket covers reduced. Their fans were quite quiet about that but guess its cos they are top of the league and all is good.

It's big clubs in the Premier League, support is hardly local any more, football isn't what it was 50 years ago any more.

It would be good to give proper explanations to these things. 8 hours ago, slartibartfast said: I don't really see the problem. How much will this disrupt travel arrangements ? What @richwwtk said….there will be people who’ve booked flights and hotels, never mind trains, around the Saturday…...plus, it’s also about plans for what you’re doing on the days the match wasn’t going to be played. You know what it’s like (even at our level) you have a degree of confidence 5 weeks prior to the game that it’s not going to be moved, so you plan other things for the Sunday or whatever. We’d be unhappy if there was an announcement today that the Burnley game was being moved. Edited April 12 by italian dave
