I have the 1974/74 long sleeved shirt which is similarly about 10 years old and still in good condition. However I wish I had bought the short sleeved one as it could be worn more during summer. You might just have convinced me to maybe get one!

I have looked at the 1976-78 shirts before but the picture makes it look a bit shiny which they were not.

I have the 75-76 shirt and it's excellent. Got the 76-80 home and away shirts on Toffs and you are quite right about the home one. It was shiny and not like the original material at all, different feel and look. So I cut my losses and sold it on eBay.

These are the shirts from the First Division days (Merrick's is reversed it was on a chewing gum card I think), I still have my Red one like Norman is wearing. I haven't seen a replica shirt that comes close yet, similar but no one has nailed it.
My fav shirt.

I had the home shirt as a kid but think the away white and black strip is the best of all time imo.

I have the white one signed by the Cheese Brian Drysdale, Clive Whitehead, Donnie and Gerry Gow. (Framed of course)

I have a Purple n Lime one from Liverpool 92.

I’ve given two or three away over the years but I’ll probably get cremated in both of them. ?

If the club had any sense at all a version of it would be this season’s away kit.

We already have a third yellow kit that we could use for the colour clashes against Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Rotherham, Stoke & Southampton.

Get your relatives to sell them as it may pay for the visit to the Crem.

Tbf I can “get” the club not stocking loads of leisure T shirts, polos etc. I’d think they appeal to a smaller section of the fanbase, and crucially, when anything is “fashion” driven it will go out of style and have a shorter shelf life.

Which is why proper retro shirts is a no brainer. They are an “enduring” item stock wise and don’t ever need to be redesigned/sold off at a loss. I think even Rovers do them and in most club shops I’ve been in recently there is a range/area specifically for retro. It makes pretty good commercial sense IMO and as we’re so keen on the “callback” in our kit designs, I’m surprised we don’t do them.

It's where we went wrong with the redevelopment.  There just isn't the floorspace for a wide enough range of merch.  Hopefully if the rumours are true about the arena housing a bigger and better shop then we can finally get this sort of thing sorted.

Hopefully the shop will be bigger and carry more stock, but will it be stuff people want to buy?

They should speak to the fans perhaps through a survey to see the types of clothing and merch people would buy.  Lots of good ideas on here and I think most of us agree that there is massive scope for improvement in this area.

I was in the shop the other week and they had very limited stock.  Can the Supporters Trust get involved?

I totally agree, but I would also imagine that if they look back at their annual sales, they should have a fairly good base of things fans want to buy.Use this as a start point, make small adjustments to test the water and see what sales.Dont make massive wholesale changes to what fans have historically always wanted to buy.
