Skysports - Leeds to finish top 6 and City to finish top half 3/1, good bet.

I'll wait till the end of the transfer window to predict finishes, but I don't think I'll waver from Leicester Champions and PNE relegated in our division and Gillingham promoted from L2.

Note a couple of posters on here see Preston going down ,

get ready for the meltdown if we don’t beat them 3-0 opening game of the season .

Dont see it myself with Preston quite a solid championship side 11th to 16th for them I reckon.

top 9 for us with our current squad even if we lose Alex ,

I'm only looking at the championship promotion race.

In the mix and in no uncertain order could be,

  • Bristol City.
  • Leicester.
  • Leeds.
  • Norwich.
  • Sunderland.
  • Hull.
  • Stoke.

Intrigued that you have Sunderland and Boro to go up if I'm reading right. Not convinced they're stronger. Simms (half-season), Diallo and Geldhart (replacing Simms basically) is a decent hole for Sunderland to fill...

...Middlesbrough, well if they re-sign Giles this may change significantly. Ramsey and Archer also returned to Aston Villa- these are the big 3 loanees, Steffen, Mowatt and Muniz the others. Might their squad be a bit weaker as it stands.

From Alex Scott thread:

yeah, I fancy them.  They coped without Simms in the second half of the season, Gelhardt didn’t do much, so with their new signings, Stewart back at some point and one of the best managers in the division, I think they are a goer.  But it’s so open.

I like Boro’s business too.

I’m interested why you think that Wednesday will go down. To be honest I haven’t taken much interest in the club but with a big fan base, and hence income, there should be the possibility of making some signings before the window closes. At the moment it seems to be players leaving and nobody coming in, but there is still time

Because I think they have a poor, ageing squad for this level, and little money to improve it.  Bannan is gonna be less effective two years on too…and he wasn’t good enough to save them then.

True and a fully fit Stewart would be a major boost..think they are still a striker light from perspective of depth, rotation etc. Mowbray a top manager at this levels as you say. Good footballing side, well coached etc but I wonder if goals might be a bit of an issue as it stands- Diallo is a big hole to be filled.

In respect of Middlesbrough, interesting business for sure but I wonder if again goals might not flow as easily given Giles, Ramsey, Archer. Well coached, strong footballing side but I'm wondering about the goals.

Clearly both have a reasonable financial position, neither have yet particularly utilised the loan market this summer yet it can definitely change.
