Sitting With The Bournemouth Fans...

...I kept quiet and applauded politely when they scored. How good does that make a City fan feel?!!

I could describe my own frustrations with the performance but I'm sure I would repeat many of the points already made.

Instead, it was actually quite interesting to listen to Bournemouth fans during the match:

- They were terrified everytime that Scott Murray got the ball. Quiet choruses of '######it' when he picked the ball up in midfield. Now we all know that Scotty hasn't rediscovered his old form yet but it reminded me of how good he was and what we are currently missing.

- Throughout the first half they expected a switch to be flicked and suddenly we would start playing like 'champions in waiting'. They couldn't believe the chances they had and there was a general sense that after the first frantic 20 minutes we would start turning the screw and punish them. Personally, I thought we were a poor outfit for all but 10 minutes of the game.

- Several Bournemouth fans recognised Miller's contribution. "He's won every ball played to him since he came on". Hopefully Tinnion saw the same. Great half-time substitution.

- Even when they were comfortably holding on to the 1-0 lead they expected the game to turn. I don't think the bookies have done us any favours by installing us as favourites for promotion - every match this season will be seen as a major test for our opposition - they will lift their game as Bournemouth did.

And, I left before the last goal. I didn't want to be sat among cheering home fans when the final whistle came. How I wish I had stayed to see their faces when Jamie Smith scored our second.
