What to expect next....

Firstly let me start by saying it's not exactly ideal that people have finally awoken to the shit show the Lansdown has provided over the past 20 years. A small pocket of us were hounded on here back during the start of Bristol Sport and through the LJ streak for daring to question the almighty leader and his dumb son, accused of being Gas etc. because we could see that this club, as far as SL was concerned, was his - not ours. He literally told us it was his and his only and people accepted that. This isn't a go, but the 'careful what you wish for' brigade have now found out. It sucks but to some of us this isn't news.

So what can we expect now looking at the history of the dictator. None of this should come as a surprise when it happens btw:

Manager - Yes man absolutely. When SL finally gets told in no uncertain terms that he hasn't a clue about football (which is correct) he immediately bounces to someone who won't tell him. I get we all love Tinnion for his playing days, but he's in his role because SL knows he'll dance to his tune - it's the only reason why anyone in the club is promoted or kept in place - that's the sole essential criteria for this family. Tinnion will be told who to appoint and he will follow that brief without using any of his own senses. Expect us to chase someone like Robins, him to hear the ideas of the owners and to reject the offer within a few hours of hearing this. There will be panic, Robins is all of sudden clueless, and a young manager who will consider themselves very lucky, to be appointed.

Squad - Injuries, injuries, injuries. There's only one way to combat that. SL will consider the fault to be in the squad numbers and that will lead to a new manager being bolstered by numerous free agents. The squad will bloat. The wage costs will explode. This will ultimately cause unrest in the squad and as we start to fall towards inevitable relegation we will sack the manager and new austerity will be implemented and the cycle will continue as it always has. I would expect a similar scenario to the McInnes years tbh.

This is just another part of the boom-bust cycle of SL's ownership. It's not surprising and it will continue for as long as this clueless family are lording it over us and the club.

Change IS/WAS needed. But it's not football management. It's ownership that's required to be changed and ASAP. Nothing will ever be achieved under Lansdown. History proves this. The next stage is set to be an increasingly frustrating one for all of us as fans. Previous mistakes are never learned from. These egotistical, and ultimately incredibly stupid in football terms, people need to go now.

The bloke named a stand after himself ffs.

If we do repeat the cycle, solid base, growth of squad in a food way, bloated squad, need to sell and cut back.

If that should happen again, I don't think this second time we would find a combination of Gould and Pearson to steer us along the bottom then our the other side, unscathed by FFP sanctions or relegation. I doubt we would get that lucky, more likely fail or relegation when seeking to scramble clear of it.
