Bristol Boy
"It's early doors" as DW may have put it, but we are already 7 points off second place. Only three games gone? Who cares? Plymouth got of to a flyer last year and even when we won 11 on the trot and they faltered badly towards the end of last season, we couldn't catch them. As we proved when we were promoted with Watford, sides that create a gap are rarely caught in this Division. The other key issue, is to win your home games-That's 69 points (67 now) and you only need another 21 or so from 69 possible away (30%)to go up automatically. The Dolman Pragmatist
Plymouth got of to a flyer last year. Did they? I thought they started slowly - possibly only one or two wins out of their first five.

Stylus
They had 3 (correct me if i'm wrong) points after two games i believe. They started playing well after we beat them 1-0 at their place and scored about 20 goals in 5 games i think?? Now is the time for points City, Come On!! screech
Based on the assumption of win your home games and get a point away to win promotion, we are amazingly after just three games 3 points worse off than where we should be. I have every confidence we can make that up!
Guest Rikku
It may be neither here nor there, but I thought we did better last season when we were chasing the top teams, not when we were being chased - we didn't exactly hold the top spot for long, did we?! Obviously, I have no idea how we will fare this season - but as much as it's always good to get early points in the bag, I think there's something to be said for creeping up on the leaders relatively unnoticed rather than being top too early and having all the other teams gunning for us. Maybe our disappointing start will lure forthcoming opposition into a false sense of security so they aren't prepared for it if/when we return to form. It's all just speculation - but just trying to point out that it's not the end of the world that we're not up there just yet!

This doesn't look like a flyer to me.... Grimsby (H) 2-2 Rushden & Diamonds (A) 1-2 Stockport (H) 3-1 Chesterfield (A) 1-1 Brighton (H) 3-3 Brentford (A) 3-1 9 points out of a possible 18 after 6 games. Gerry Gows' Tash
I reakon City do play better when they are trying to catch up, as someone has pointed out, last season our 11 wins on the bounce was what got us to the top of the Div, but we were chasing Plymouth most of that time. Once we got to the top we lost the plot slightly. As I've said before I'm not worried, City never start well, and as long as we are in the top 6 by the new year I won't be concerned. The other issue is that they scored 6 goals in three not four like us whilst conceeding 5! To be honest though, the thing that bugs me most is our form and the apparent confusion of the players as to what they have to do.We look disjointed all over the pitch That, coupled with key players (Doherty, Coles & Murray) seemingly indifferent at best, is my main concern. Swindon Hater
"As we proved when we were promoted with Watford, sides that create a gap are rarely caught in this Division." Well infact we were 19th in October that season and I remember the side being booed off after a 1-0 home defeat against Bournemouth and Ward's head being called for, then we went on a massive unbeaten run, so we didn't actually create an early gap.
