He will be recalled - and not to go elsewhere.

Opinion or inside information ?

As someone who knows nothing I don't see it happening.

If he came back and played ahead of SA and FM it paints the recruitment , the Tech Director and coach in a poor light. I wouldn't think they'd want or like that.
Plus he's hardly pulling up trees , 3 goals in 10 starts (17 times in squad), ok but not screaming bring me back .
As a fan it would add interest , but not sure he's what we need to kick on to the top 6. Loved to be proved wrong on that one though.

Interesting.

My understanding a week ago was it was 50/50 whether he got recalled & potentially loaned out to a League One team or he stayed in Scotland.

However as I have posted recently the Mayulu situation & Cornick effectively being frozen out might well have changed that.

Don’t think there would be any serious pressure on him (with no experience of Championship football at all) or anyone sane is realistically expecting him to “save our season” but with several of our strikers disappointing it would be instructive to see how he did, probably initially from the bench.

I’m with you, surely at least 2 of 3 (Cornick Mayulu Armstrong) would have to depart for this to make any sense.
I can see Cornick leaving/being forced out.
Maybe we’ll get some “homesick and off on loan” line about Mayulu…. maybe Armstrong’s injury is an “injury” and there’s some League 1 club desperate to take a non-scoring centre forward on loan…… but I doubt it!

He's City through and through so would battle for everything and run until he drops. He would be desperate to contribute, though undoubtedly from the bench initially.

He really can't be any worse than Armstrong and Mayulu and he's a goalscoer and if he gets a goal, however it comes, like all forwards his confidence would surge.

Expectations would be realistic but the crowd would be massively behind him and he might just surprise us.

I’d have thought it would depend somewhat on what happens the next three games - we take 7/9 points and look legitimately like possible playoff contenders, might benefit him more staying on loan to avoid being thrust into a high pressure situation.

But we struggle, my sense would be if he’s possibly due to be involved next year, bring him back now and accelerate that development by half a season.

This is their 6th loan, from a club with a partnership as well, on top of 2 loans from Burnley where they have a partnership, if all 3 of those make every match day squad it leaves Seb fighting with 2 others for 2 loan spots in the match day squad

If he is to be recalled (no idea) you may have just unearthed why. Good spot.

All true, but Larkeche is long term injured & the lad from Leicester u21s has rarely featured.

I’m not saying he isn’t coming back but even with a new player I’d back him to make their match day squad.

A thread appears to be deleted. However Dundee are live in the states at 5:30 UK Time.

SPH starts. If it’s on here I suspect there is at minimum a dodgy stream.

Better than our summer signings and no worse than Bell as a central striker so should be recalled

We'll get a chance to judge for ourselves momentarily.

Do we have recall rights to the end of Jan window?

Good start from seb, excellent movement

im sure city watching this one

Yep. Liking what I see so far.

Started really well that little nutmeg to win a free kick high, great movement to get in behind and a strong drilled pass which should've resulted in a goal. Got a lot to do this game Dundee FC go long to him at every opportunity.

The fans obviously like him , singing his name from the start.

Yup. At least there won’t be a song for Seb thread here.

For a derby (on the same road) atmosphere poor and lack of police segregation suprised me.

Must be the closest derby in the UK with a three minute walk between the stadiums.

He’s done well, one excellent cross that should have resulted in a goal.

I know it’s a Derby but the ball is in the air an awful lot.

Is it me or has he bulked up a bit this last year or so

He's always been a unit!

The things he has naturally (size, pace and workrate) are things that will allow him to hold his own at this level as he develops/refines his technique.

Still baffles me we sent him away, tbh.

Because we found a diamond in Fally Mayulu!

Playing in a 2 up top?

3, on the far right, but they do tend to switch it about.

Been impressive thus far.

The “bit” I’ve really liked is the movement and the demanding of the ball, indicating where he wants it constantly. The latter is indicative of a bit more confidence that your average player of Sebs age. Ultimately the work rate is good but it’s that which tips him into strong prospect territory.

On this, wouldn’t be unamenable to having him back and letting Dundee have Fally for the second half of the season.

Their "lads" get along I believe.

They've cut right back on policing at football in Scotland due to cost.

At Hibs v Dundee in August it was a "police free" day and I didn't see any trouble, despite over 1k Dundee in attendance.

Heavy punishments for causing trouble, pyro banned, and no booze for sale in grounds helps.

Celtic signed Matt O Reilly from league one and Lyall Cameron has the same kind off numbers in Scotland apart from goals and they made good money on the Dane

He's been their best player by quite a distance.

Today he has but Mulligan is equally as good but a different style off player more aggressive and physical and a athletic runner

Dolby is on a bosman too good finish

On the bench for Dundee United is one Dave Richards, a former bench-warmer of this parish

And two ex City on the same bench - the manager and the first team coach.

Seb off now. Showed glimpses and his movement and work rate are great, but didn't have a great game in the end with a very costly mistake.

Got underneath it! Shit happens!

he was chasing a lot of nothing the very odd decent pass in and one real opportunity that the keeper did well to stop.

For pace, engine and movement he knocks spots off of Mayulu at the moment!

Had a looksie at the match, played in a two, which ain’t going to happen here.

Some way behind Bell imo and certainly, at present, not a solution to our loan striker woes I very much regret to say.

I think he should be here, with our current #9 options firing blanks and everything sitting on Wells we should recall him.

Bell is an option but he's always needed a run of games to find his groove.

I think with the service he would get from our midfield he'd score a few important goals, but given where we are theres no pressure on him to do so.

Pretty sure they recruit from parts off the world too such as Australia Ireland and Northern Ireland Macadonia Ghana Gambia and many other weird and wonderful places they recruit from league two is a absolute myth and many EPL and championship teams send young players up on loan

Yeah I wanted to poke my eyes out too!

However Palmer Houlden was very decent in a poor game between mediocre teams.

Dundee Utd are sitting third after just coming up recruited really well and drew with Celtic there decent and think they proved that today by getting the three points they'll build especially if they stop Aberdeen getting third with the European money

More importantly why does Scotland have a BH on the 2nd Jan?!

They always have to my memory. They have St Andrew’s day too!

They don’t get a couple of bank holidays  the English do.
