Ska Junkie
What did Twine lose his shit for in the first half? He was having a right go at the ref and then did it again in the 2nd half albeit to a lesser degree. He could easily have been booked for either. Luckily, Knight pushed him away eventually. Mr Popodopolous
Think he was angry that one or two fouls or robust challenges on him quite early weren't appropriately (in his view) dealt with and frustration built up a bit.

He was given free kicks each time Mr P. Surely we aren't that shallow to insist on the ref showing a card as I hate that? Not that we got much out of the ref anyway. Thanks Ska, Rosenior did mention it on the Post Match Analysis, said that if we need to get a booking early or a Red Card early do it and that it changes the dynamic and can put the opposing midfielder on a bit of a tightrope. I'm inclined to agree with you, the "Book Him Ref" stuff doesn't appeal.

Shuffle
Twine as I said in previous message was like a petulant child but having said that; he still was our biggest threat. I’m not convinced about whether he’s worth anywhere near what we paid for him but plea to Manning is you’ve chased a 10 all summer and play him in his correct position rather than sacrifice a left hand side for him.
Ashton Fete
For me the issue LM faces is having to drop one of Williams, Bird, Knight and Twine You could make a case for Knight but he’s the captain (wrong choice IMO) and won’t get dropped so it’s got to be Williams, drop Bird back and play Twine in the middle My concern and perhaps LM is that an axis of Knight/Bird/Twine don’t look like ball winners in the same Williams is and Saturday shows how if midfielders get doubled up on their ball winning by default drops significantly
reddogkev
Too many chefs in that area messing up the balance with other areas of the pitch? Reminds me of England during the Summer and how to get the best out of Foden, Bellingham and Palmer, but obviously this is the Bristol City equivalent of this problem! Why did we sign so many players in this area? Earthy makes literally no sense whatsoever...
BCFCOFSWEDEN
Manning plays 3 players in the wrong position! Twine is no winger Bird is no number 10 Naismith is no mid defender. Another thing, when a team is 2-0 down you could take out a defender and not the best player (Armstrong) we had against Derby. Its not forbidden to play with 2 strikers…. Manning has his book and in the book it stands that he shall sub Armstrong for Mayulu in the 68th minute. Last year it stood, change Conway for Wells… I have more examples!

It absolutely killed us, and Pring in particular. He was so exposed it was unreal, all they had to do was ping diags on counter attacks and they were away. They even had a load of joy down that side at the start of the second half, where Pring had to concede a corner and straight after screamed at him for being so out of position. Games like today & Cov is exactly why, even after Millwall, I am very comfy in saying paying £3.7m for him was mental. Lets be fair, that isn't Twine's fault if he's being told to play a certain way. I'm absolutely certain (as we saw with England in the summer) that Twine's positioning was by design from the coach - because if not he'd have been dragged at HT. I think Liam took Derby lightly and thought we could be clever and we'd outplay them. Admittedly it started well and had we took our chances, you could be sat here saying how well it paid off. The fact it took so long to change it though was worrying. We could all see how exposed Pring was, again not his fault either. Assuming (and I think we have to) that Twine played how he was told to then I don't think it;s fair to suggest it's his fault. I'd agree though I didn't think we should have spent that much on him, and I like Twine

That's a little bit knee jerk but personally I don't think he offers the same passing range as Bird or the same tackling / tenacity of Williams. We'd lose more dropping either of those two than we do Knight, even if that's a little harsh because I like Knight. Otherwise before Saturday I'd have said you drop Twine for some actual width as Bird had been exceptional so far. After Saturday though it's less clear cut
