Ten Hag Sacked

Has been coming for about 18 months. Absolute mess of a club.

No shock to see RVN caretaker…..was clear to me he was angling to become manager the minute he took the assistant role. Wouldn’t bet against him being given the job.

I’m thinking Thomas Frank will replace him.
He’s been saying some odd things lately, regarding him having been at Brentford for a long time and that he doesn’t know what’s round the corner.
My 2+2 is adding up to Frank to Man U.

He was one of the ones they sounded out in the summer.

That's disappointing, he was doing a great job of keeping them terrible. It's an interesting comparison between ManUre and Chelsea - the latter having been seen as a mess, but now really showing positive signs; the former also a mess, but not improving.

I'm hoping that the Ineos effect that has worked so well for the former Team Sky will continue with ManUre, i.e. catastrophic fall off.

They've probably put in place a structure to take the club forward, but it's a bit of a mess, the squad's all over the place, and the ground is in need of huge investment.

So sad, too bad, never mind.

Hopefully Frank Lampard

Totally re the first bit.

If they had acted sooner they could have got Holloway.

From what I've seen from Sir Jim, he'll try and spend as little as possible in terms of compensation, so I'm thinking someone who's out of a job. Southgate or Xavi, I think.

Nailed on for Southgate I think

They all do until a job too good to refuse arrives on the scene.

Yes please.

Wise words from Frank Spencer ...

Just listened to a Man U fan on Talksport saying they need to bring in a winner - but could have misheard and he said weiner

About time really

I guess Thomas Frank said, yes to them.

He would be their best appointment since Fergie left imo. They have been way too obsessed with big name managers/players coming in

Ten Hag was hardly a big name.

Or Mr Box Entries himself, Lee Johnson.

Some perspective to those who complain we didnt spend enough nor wisely in the past two windows. 10 Haag spent £565m in 3 seasons to get to 14th in the P.L. How much would we need to spend to get there and who has that money?

Sure we can have a whip round

How is comparing them to us a sense of perspective? Biggest load of bollox I've ever heard!

I don't think 14th in the PL was their aspiration when they spent the money.

If they do end up hiring Southgate. It will be the icing on the cake.

Talksh*ite this morning reporting they were talking to a manager in employment and having to pay compensation.

Frank or Howe the obvious ones.

I’d guess Frank. I don’t see the whole appeal of Howe if I’m honest. I’m not even sure Frank is the right candidate.

They need an elite manager to overturn everything there.

Not a Southgate fan myself but might not be the worst appointment for them. Would steady the ship I guess and give them a solid foundation which is needed.

But there's lots of very average players there signed for big fees and on high wages who will be hard to shift so tough job for anyone.

Unai Emery would be perfect but won't happen. Or could it?

Seriously... you'd be mad to go and manage that club right now.

Two foreign managers have already turned them down. Don't blame em.

Man Utd on your CV used to mean something.

Disaster of a Club now.

Yes but Villa only have a certain ceiling if you know what I mean.

I do but he’s more likely to succeed at Villa. Villa are no mugs and will be more than happy to continue to financially back Emery as long as success endures.

Sporting Lisbon and I can't remember the second...heard it on radio earlier.

Edit

Xavi Hernandez the second

Ruben Amorim the first?

Going off at a slight tangent, but does anyone know what happened to Jaden, the young ball boy swept off his feet and swung around by LJ when Korey Smith scored the winner?

Didn’t Tuchel also turn them down?

Done very well in Portugal but be rather different at Man U with an under performing squad.

How much more money can they spend/waste?

No doubt he'll want his own players including a few from sporting usually get good fees.

If I was a manager going to utd there's wouldn't be many in that squad I'd want to keep!
