No doubt he'll want his own players including a few from sporting usually get good fees.

If I was a manager going to utd there's wouldn't be many in that squad I'd want to keep!

Trouble is didn't Ten Hag try to do that with Ajax players and it hasn't worked out,

Wow Frank better than Jose

But as you said imo

Course he isn't, but I think he is the right fit for Man Utd right now.

Never thought Jose was the right fit there

At the very least United have improved the footballing structure to give the new guy a chance to succeed. Sounds great Amorim but so did Ten Hag so interesting to see what happens

Have they though?

The summer recruitment looks poor and the way they handled the manager's situation with the end of season review, chatting to other managers, through to a new contract, was surely under the watch of the new C-Suite, even if technically Dan Ashworth was on gardening leave during June 2024. I'm sure he was at very least a consulted voice. You wouldn't appoint a sporting director 3 days after extending the contract of his direct report without his sign off.

They’ve done a lot of work of sorting the board. As you mentioned Ashworth came in, Southampton director of football came in under him who has a good record with the Man City academy aswell and then brought in the CEO from Man City.

Think you can take the window with a pinch of salt as it’s still early days, but also the likes of De Ligt and Mazraoui seemed like Ten Hag signings with the weird rule he had with signing former Ajax players. So think they deserve more time to see if they improve under a new manager
