Isn't Robins one of those managers who relies on a team approach with his coaches, he's just the person who controls the coaching set up, but doesn't do the 'on the grass' stuff so much? So it's more Robins plus his team, rather than just him?

Lampard to Coventry? - not sure if that will be a popular appointment with their fans.

Funny though.

I think it’s a good appointment.

I'd not be happy if Lampard was appointed for us  but it's an interesting one. Lampard has had two jobs - Derby and Chelsea - where he's shown promise but arguably should have been doing well anyway with the available resources and two jobs - Everton and Chelsea Mark II where he's struggled but could conceivably be cut some slack due to them being situations where others would struggle too. It's really hard to pin down how good a manager he actually is. I think how he does at Coventry is going to be quite defining for him. If he does well, he might start to be seen as a promising manager again but, if he struggles, I reckon it might be his last chance at the Championship or above.

I agree.

Hes got a good bunch of players at Cov…he should improve them versus where they are.  If he doesn’t, probably no excuses for him.

A good summary.

I'd add that whilst he was at Derby they broke FFP that season, which would've helped him - signed the likes of Harry Wilson, Tomori and Mason Mount on loan.

Conversely at Chelsea they were under transfer embargo, and he did a good job under the circumstances, and gets credit for blooding lots of youngsters.

Did anyone see that interview between Ally McCoist and Sir Alex the other day?

As they met and were having a general chat, Sir Alex mentioned a game on tv he had watched and how impressed he had been with Frank Lampard's punditry. Gushing over it he was. It would have been music to Frank's ears coming from him.
