Rooney or not, they are still absolutely pants.

Should be going there full of confidence of 3 points.

They're okay at Home, injuries permitting.

Add in suspect weather conditions, localish derby and a 12.30pm kick-off and it feels like a banana skin ie draw risk to me.

First team coach Kevin Nancekivell and Club Captain Joe Edwards will lead the team for our Sky Bet Championship match against Bristol City on New Year’s Day. Daryl Flahavan will continue as Goalkeeping coach.

They're going to to be all over the place. Being positive, we have to go there and take the game to them and get the three points.

Or it may galvanise them, read of massive issues there League table aside albeit could be rubbish.

Personally I find it hard to watch a top England player look out of their depth as a manager. Not the only one of course.

His future? I guess he will fit in somewhere, maybe as an assistant, which is what he should have done in the first place.

I think he’s done in any form of managing/coaching.

Oh FFS!

Gale force winds, and a managerless team.

We just need a sell out away end and the possibility of putting a run together and you'd have the full Bristol City impending collapse bingo card.

On wait, we do.

People who know nothing about football often question the sanity of those of us who follow City away.

But there are some days when I do too - and tomorrow’s probably one of them 😂😂

It was inevitable given the dire results this season - shame it had to be the day before we play them tho

They'll be mangerless - I guess it’ll be a senior player or coach that does the team talk………:dunno:

You could always read the press release. That tells you the answer.

It's one of the great mystery's of football how teams can be good at home and so poor away.

We get battered by Pompey away, then batter them at home (no fish puns please )

At the end of the day it's 11 v 11 why should it matter if you are home or away.

My first instinct was to think, oh no Colin

First game in charge, we know what normally happens

Ant - “Colleen - tonight’s bushtucker challenge is to eat what’s on the plate”

Colleen - “urghhh, what is it?”

Dec - “Shrek penis”

Colleen - “oh that’s okay, I’ve had that before, and it’s only a small mouthful”

Lost all respect for him after his rant to camera in South Africa. Absolute bellend.

Going to support City from Cornwall. The atmosphere there was going to be toxic but not anymore. They are not that bad at home and weather forecast dire. Some of their best injured players coming back I hear. We must not let this be another Portsmouth away . Personally hope for a win but with the Rooney factor gone and weather forecast a point would  be reasonable

I see it as an opportunity for Liam, Chris and the lads to  show us that the last few results bar West Brom is the start of something bigger and not another false dawn. Do they have the balls to take on a game that MAY be a bit tougher now and come back with points on the bus? That’s what a good side needs to do, ignore the noise and get the job done.

I'm not so sure about that, get an early goal and the fans will turn, Rooney wasn't exactly the target of their anger so nothing really changes

Makes it a tougher game tomorrow now …. often see teams galvanised when this happens.

I was looking forward to hearing the crowds reaction if/when we scored 1st tomorrow.

Will be interesting to see what effect it might have.

Seems odd timing, on the eve of a match.

Hopefully it will distrupt their pre-match plans & leave them a bit shambolic. Of course, it can create either a siege mentality that will help them, or be like taking the shackles off & allow them to play with a freedom that they've been lacking & be difficult to handle.

So basically it could help us, hinder us, or make no difference atall..!

We just need to get our game right, know we are the better team & going out & prove it 🤞

Phelan gone as well after just a month there.

I think that puts Rooney’s managerial career to bed.

I don’t know , there’s a team not far from us where he may well fit in well

I'd hate that.

Aside from his managerial struggles - I will always admire him for Euro 2004 memories & his achievements in an England shirt.

Despising him because of connection to that rabble would feel somewhat conflicted.

There are plenty of other people who can do a bad job for them & thankfully they find most of them..!

I've never understood why some people feel that a good player will make a good manager.

Totally different skills.

Bobby Moore and Bobby Charlton are the  biggest names that I can think of.

On the other hand, Arsenal Wenger was never a good player but became a great manager.

What the Shrek !!!

Why couldn't he hang on till after we played them.

Simon Hallett, Fiona and Chairman of the club must have have run out of patience.

Apparently, Rooney was offered a measly Farquaad as a pay-off.

As a player Rooney was no donkey, but as a manager he's made an ass of himself.

Rumours are Dewsnip, there DOF and a big friend of Rooney, has been sacked as well.

That’s interesting.  Not sure he is the big friend that is often insinuated, was his youth coach at Everton, but they’d not had any contact for years.

Dewsnip is a bit full of himself though.
