Visiting Supporters | Oxford United Football Club From Oxford Station both the City5 and Stagecoach1 bus services run every 5 minutes to Sandy Lane West. The journey takes around 40 minutes and then it is a 15 minute walk to the stadium (see City 5/Stagecoach 1 Timetable). Taxis will take around 20 minutes to get to the ground from Oxford station and will probably cost around ยฃ15 - ยฃ20. 2 1 Quote
cidercity1987 Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Sounds like an appalling away dayย , no pubs, no transport and isn't Blackbird Leys one of the biggest council estates in the country? Quote
Littlesh*t Posted January 5 Posted January 5 I have stayed at the premier inn next to the ground and their is definitely a bus service to and from the city centre.ย The area around the ground their wasn't a lot (bowling and a few places to eat) the estate next to it seemed rough. ย On a slightly different note if anyone can sort me and a mate with 2 tickets it would be massively appreciatedย Quote

Then you get inside the ground and find it's the most souless stadium you can imagine, and as you're sat there freezing you look over the wall behind the goal and realise you should've to the bowling alley instead. If you're travelling by train I'd head to Cowley Road after the game (it's on the way to the city centre), there's quite a lot of decent pubs and places to get food there. Quote
