Basic but completely and utterly tuneless and passion less - all imho of course. And as I said not aimed at me  All about opinions though but it’s not one I’d ever start or join in with.   Give me wings of a sparrow, red flag, you are my city, my old man, brrrrrrristol (can’t get any simpler than that!!),  etc etc any day.   All derivatives of which I still hear being sung across other matches so the excuse that they are too old now doesn’t mix with me personally (not aimed at you btw - just what I’ve read on here at certain points).

that’s also a factor, definitely. i still don’t know the words to the mehmeti chant, as the only bit i can pick up is where they say his name. whereas we could just use the chant we’ve used for decades, “anis mehmeti runs down the wings for me… **** off o’dowda” etc etc

Give out some word sheets each week, a lot of people don't join in because they are unsure what they are singing also mix the songs up a bit

Just my tuppence worth, but a general sense, I think, that City have stagnated.

We have long since established ourselves in this division but there are zero signs we are going to take the next step and even seriously threaten the playoff places, let alone the automatic spots.

Same story for years - throwing away commanding leads, turning in the odd exceptional performance only to quickly revert to mediocrity, selling our top performers (I totally understand why we have to cash in, incidentally) and buying players who really aren’t up to snuff, suffering bouts of injuries to key players and enduring a series of highly questionable managerial hires by our owners, who appear increasingly aloof and out of touch.

While it’s better than being in a relegation dogfight there’s precious little to get exercised about right now. It’s safe, it’s rinse and repeat, dare I say it’s almost boring.
