@spudski I’m not up to speed with Spanish footie…at Champ level versus bottom of La Liga / top end La Liga 2, does it translate well?

It's like any foreign league Dave. You have to scout accordingly, as to whether a player will suit the Championship

Spanish players are technically very good, and now more robust than they used to be.

There's definitely a market imo, and in Portugal. Tearing it up here.

As an example, look at the career of Borja Sainz.

There cannot be too many sides in the Championship who have 4 strikers, of which, only 1 is regarded, at the age of 34, as the only viable starter?  Our recruitment record, considering we have  Tinman and his team of analysts apparently combing the transfer market, is piss poor.  I appreciate that SL coughed up dough in the Summer, which the percentage alloted for goalscorer's    was pretty much squandered, and this must make him reticent to release funds for a loan striker, but..................in our present position of 8th, we really need to recruit a striker, if we wish to get any higher?  We have lost or drawn games this season by narrow margins, just for the sake of a goalscorer who can conjure up a goal or two.   While I fully understand it is a game at a much higher level, the principal remains the same?   Arsenal v Newcastle yesterday showed how one good striker makes the difference, if Arsenal had Isak in their team they would probably have won?  For all their excellent approach play through midfield, Arsenal could not put the ball in the net?

Be it the National league, or Division 1 and 2 or where ever, a striker can make all the difference, and we Need one, or forget the top six this season?

On the Foreign Leagues 2nd Tier, Championship IMO is the best albeit I have limited knowledge here but the closest feels like Bundeslga II.

Of course you can get gems in any League but stylistically, depth..That feels the closest. In the 1980s to say late 1990s dunno about the closest but Serie B was probably very good, strong technical level etc.
