Never to the dark side Posted January 7 Posted January 7 in the U.K. and around the World do you subscribe to audio commentary of the Bristol City games? Quote
The turtle Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Technically if you have robins tv you do so by default. In fact, I used to use two devices and pair up timings to avoid robins tc commentary. Quote
Gakoe Posted January 7 Posted January 7 (edited) I used to when I lived in Australia. Mostly to listen to evening games while at work. Edited January 7 by Gakoe Spellcheck!! Quote
Never to the dark side Posted January 7 Author Posted January 7 Flamin Groovey Thank you for your reply I see your location is East Devon can you not receive BBC Bristol via a freeview aerial? Quote
SydneyCity Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Nope. YouTube highlights is enough for me these days. It was getting ridiculous staying up till 4am for the football, then getting up at 7:30 to take my kid to Nippers (surf lifesaving for kids). Quote

No mate, don’t have freeview only freesat which does not offer this facility, annoyingly. Quote

cidered abroad Posted January 7 Posted January 7 (edited) No. I live in Burnham On Sea and listen to Radio Bristol on either radio or satellite tv/radio. That’s for away matches only as ST for home games. Edited January 7 by cidered abroad 1 Quote
Midred Posted January 7 Posted January 7 I've always found it bizarre that if you live locally (within 50 miles?) you can listen to the radio for free but outside of this area, for contractual reasons, (?) you have to pay for the internet. Who is the contract between? 2 Quote

Who is the contract between? Broadcaster and EFL - the broadcaster will only have the rights to broadcast to a certain small area. All to do with Money. Take our away game at Sunderland - the EFL can sell to BBC Radio Bristol for broadcast in and around Bristol and then to whatever station in Sunderland to broadcast there locally. If only one station had exclusivity to broadcast it then the revenue for the EFL would undoubtedly be less - they're selling the same product twice and the only way to do that is to have a restrictive catchment area. 1 Quote

Robins tv puts the whole match up , spoiler free around 1am uk time on the night of the match. If you can avoid the score, that's one way you could watch it without having to give so much by seeing live 1 Quote

Leveller Posted January 7 Posted January 7 No. I live near Taunton and drive to home games. Sometimes listen to Radio Bristol on the TV for away games (Freeview). Can’t get Radio Bristol here on DAB - usually Yeovil Town on Radio Somerset. Quote

OJ009 Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Currently in Pontypool (but from Bristol). I use my ST for home games and can get Radio Bristol for away games. Quote
Mallorcan Red Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Nope, i watch all the games live online from here outside the UK Quote
Jersey Bristolian Posted January 7 Posted January 7 No, watch them all (Sky/internet) but can't subscribe to Robins TV as Channel Islands is classed as UK for TV purposes etc. Quote
Coin-op Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Generally no, I do get it if a cup game is not being streamed or am away on holiday. Quote
Vic Vif Victor Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Recently got IPTV and so I watch the games from there. Very useful when you live abroad! Quote
22A Posted January 7 Posted January 7 No; I select FAWANews on the internet and see every City game live. 2 Quote

EX8 Red Posted January 7 Posted January 7 No.We have season cards and attend nearly all home games despite living 85 miles away Got tickets for Plymouth away, which was great as we were home half an hour earlier than we normally are. For the Wolves game, the ridiculous kick off tome will mean us leaving before 9am 1 Quote
M.D Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Yes and have done for years, use it as back if I can't either go or watch on SKY/online. Quote

Do you know if the replays are available on a game by game basis, rather than the full season pass? A combination of finding Manningball boring and redundancy induced uncertainty over finances mean I’m being a bit more selective this year. Quote

When I log in all the games all there from the whole season Inc pre. For sure you need an account, but I'm not 100% you need a subscription. If you log into robinsTV, have a look for the games, for me they are on the main page. 1 Quote
Med/MadHatter Posted January 8 Posted January 8 I used to have Robins TV but I must've upset the wife as she didn't renew my subscription  so now have an IPTV that I watch our games on over here in Canuckia Quote

REDOXO Posted January 8 Posted January 8 This is an interesting one! My annual subscription to RTV (audio and visual) ran out last week. In the states now we are on paramount + for 60% of games. Which I pay about 10 bucks a month but that includes shows various European leagues championship and nearly always Wrexham RTV quoted me 180 not for the year but until the end of the season so I have not taken it up I watched the last game for 10 quid and there is an option for audio if you prefer for 2.50p game by game. So I’ll pay for audio or video depending on where I am per game for the foreseeable future. On top of this ESPN+ have the FA CUP and our game is on this weekend (as most of them are) but they wan $11.99 a month and they don’t really have much else that I would watch. for Wolves I’ll probably get audio from RTV and listen with a cup of tea and post match I usually go to Radio Brizz direct as the RTV audio can start and stop at strange times As many are aware I live in the mid west of the USA. But remain a season ticket holder so they get plenty of my wedge! Fingers crossed we win and draw Liverpool/Arsenal/Man City at home. 1 Quote
Denbury Red Posted January 8 Posted January 8 I'm in South Devon - have a season ticket so don't need to listen for home games - but for Away games I listen on Freeview Channel 719 or 721. Works really well. 2 Quote
Heathy Posted January 8 Posted January 8 (edited) Yep. No choice if i want to listen to radio bristol as i'm in london Edited January 8 by Heathy 1 Quote
stephenkibby. Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Had the audio for a few years, chose not to renew as it was so unpredictable. In fact gave up after about 5 games into the season when i'd not been able to listen to any game. Now i'm not the best with these things but can find a stream without any hassle. Quote
