They also spent some in January- As for other bits, sacking Alex Neil and being Schumacher and they may have sacked and replaced the Technical Director too will add Costs that won't be repeated...

There seems to be an Income lag vs Club there, I reckon their true Pre Tax Loss is closer to £20-25m..those Bet365 Accounts run from March 27th 2023 to March 31st 2024.

Stoke City Holdings are the key here, when they're out.

Stoke's turnover was £23m whereas ours is £42m. What's the reason for the difference? Presumably we must have some revenue stream that they don't have? A rental charge from the Bears or something?

Treat with caution £9-10m lag in Bet365 2 months and 10 months vs Stoke City Holdings..maybe it is linked to timing of payments, these Accounts run until end of March from late in the previous March, contained within Bet365.

However for us,a very good non Matchday Commercial Revenue base seems to underpin or bolster at least..albeit this brings Costs too. Cup games added a bit too.

Wow so even a small cup run can be hugely beneficial!

Two sellout games against West Ham would’ve helped, as I’m pretty sure both teams get 45% of the total gate receipts in the FA Cup.

Prize money for a third-round win was around £100,000 as well, plus gate receipts from the two Forest games, although those would be lower than West Ham.

A few hundred grand. No replays this season either, so that win against West Ham last year, or the away trip to Forest? Not happening this season.

Cup revenue will be significantly less in 24/25s accounts.

Prize money alone is a nice filip, if you draw the right teams though this can be supplemented by gate receipts, commercial revenue and overseas broadcast rights.

Prize money this year.

Not when we win it! 😆

Just On Finance and Football, some nice words from a former journo in respect of us.

To add, I've criticised the Lansdowns over various things, this is something to praise and credit- SL moreso probably, although perhaps JL has also played a strong role who knows.

A real shame about certain and recurring footballing errors.

I actually read Daves bit as all £3m was due to those FA cup games but re-reading it it would be all match day revenue for the season.

In my defence I was scoffing lunch so not reading properly!

Sorry everyone.

Was there talk of the fact that we potentially have too few corporate/hospitality seats/boxes given demand since the Lansdown was constructed?

I didn't mean my reply to dismiss your comment in it's entirety.

Cup games are helpful, even a company/group that turns over £40m notices an extra £500k. That's enough to be interested by.

But yeh, sadly we're not making millions of pounds from the FA Cup!

When we've not sold all the ones we've got? I think there's 3 going now if you're interested. Although I guess if went up there would suddenly be more interest.

Birmingham seem to be selling it out in League One or at times anyway which is pretty odd..

It was your clarification of a couple of hundred grand that made me re-read it!

Is there enough left for a new year striker Dave ?

There is if SL wants to!

This is the salient point that needs explaining time and again.

While there are arguments for and against a January 2025 striker, we have the headroom not least rhe disaster and painstaking rebuild of a few years ago, but it is up to SL and tbh I also get that the Rules maybe changing come Summer 2025 or 2026 at tbis level as the Accounts referred to but yes as Dave says we do have Headroom.

The salient point being as Dave says, that if SL wants to we can.

Thank you. So our owner has only him self to blame if we don't get a new striker and have a damn good go at top 6

An better no.2 to compete with Max would not be a shady move either.

Within reason yes. FFP Limits and Future Forecasts still apply but we have Headroom or should do.

If we do we haven’t learned from the Johnson / Ashton errors of having a top heavy squad. If we are looking to bring in a new striker it should be next summer.

We bought Fanny and Sinclair to be our top two strikers to rotate them as we only play one up even if losing. To bring in another striker we will be striker heavy in my opinion.

Unless someone is sold Manning should have to go with what he and Tinnion have decided to bring in.

Don’t forget Manning was brought here to develop the players that we’ve already got. He was meant to look at the academy players first wasn’t he? He needs to get our current players on the grass and start improving them.

In the summer if we lose Wells and Cornick should be gone as well if not before then yes bring in a new striker.

Looking back to the start of the season Wells first start was in October so the plan was for him to play a bit part role this season then probably be gone in the summer. We are lucky we’ve got Wells at the moment.

I pretty much agree with this, albeit perhaps if the right player for the right price came along and he would benefit us both this 6 months and several years down the line- Prime Years, lead the attack..yeah I'd say go for it. Bird was a bit of a gem who we got in January.

The other side to the argument is that he (SL) had already given them the resources, back in the summer.  Maybe some critical analysis log that should happen first?

Yes I can see the other side of the argument point. But is Fally, Armstrong the answer to our striker problem ? Ok maybe in time. As they most definitely are works in progress. I seem to remember SL, BT and crayon boy stating we had a top six even top 2 squad around the Pearson exit. Yeah fine lines and all that. Our manager/coach a young up coming respected chap but again is he still a  work in progress. Look as I have said before. Red till I dead I will continue to cheer our boys on. But I feel I am seeing a lot 2 + 2 = 5 coming from SL. And his silence is worrying to be honest. I feel like we are waiting for some earth shaking announcement. Or maybe we should just sit back enjoy what we have and be content with another mid table season.

End of rant 👷

Corporate and Commercial are all excellent. It's only the football side I have any issues with.

Problem is, it's kind of the bread and butter. The commercial is the topping.

Like a stale crumpet with caviar.

If we do go in the transfer market personally I think it needs to be a more experienced pro. I know this goes against  Tinnions recruitment policy. Just think back to the impact that Wade Elliot and Aaron Wilbraham  had on our title winning season.

I wouldn’t be against someone similar to Patrick Bamford (I know he’s currently injured). A clever type of player who has experience of playing on his own who can link up play.

What we can’t have is another player that has potential they need to be able to hit the ground running.
